TJ's Top Secret Plans for 2024
Make things, share things, teach things!
Reflecting on 2023
In all of my previous experiences in worldbuilding, I wrote a list of what core articles I wanted to make and then felt like I had to create all the ingredients and small pieces first to flesh it out. It resulted in me putting things off and then when it came to finally writing those chonky important concepts - I felt burnt out, overwhelmed, and unsatisfied with the outcomes. So for WorldEmber2023, I took a completely different approach and started tackling the core articles first - I thought it would be really difficult but actually I enjoyed it so much more! Despite not knowing anything about this new world I'm making, starting with the basics and then elaborating on the details afterwards really helped me get excited about my worldbuilding again! I completed my initial goal for WorldEmber of 10,000 words, and even pushed ahead to my stretch goal of 25k :D I'm really pleased with my progress and I had so much fun with it!New Year's Resolutions
My new year's worldbuilding resolutions for 2024 are:- Keep doing the things that work well for me!
- Make a world map (I'll be loosely following guides from Artifexian and Madeline James Writes)
- Create more things in between challenges :)
