Harke ye all to tales most rare,
Of adventures bold beyond compare!
Through hallways where fire walls did blaze,
And kobold arrows pierced the haze.
With Lady Oleander's stern decree,
Brave Aleksey sought diplomacy.
Down corridors they made their flight,
To fountains granting dragon's might.
In chambers where the water gleamed,
Fire-breath powers were thus redeemed.
While Meepo spoke of Calcryx fair,
And Buhrell's lineage laid bare.
Into the chamber filled with rats,
O'er pitfalls deep they tiptoed past.
Four beasts of size most fearsome grew,
'Til Aleksey's flame and Draxon's throw rang true.
Poor Karakas, a ranger dead,
His treasures found where rats had fed.
But fortune's smile did quickly fade,
When Revag's troops their progress stayed.
Through goblin halls of violet light,
Past forty warriors armed for fight,
Stood Chief Durn upon his throne,
With shaman Renold's mystic tone.
Of deep dragons and druids strange,
And twig blights serving at close range,
A day to plot their next decree,
While companions waited to be free.
So ends this tale of derring-do,
'Til next we meet to start anew,
When heroes bold shall once more rise,
'Neath torch-lit halls and dungeon skies.
We had a good short rest. A few of us stayed in a separate room. Draxon and I chat with Meapo, who says that the little deep dragon's name is Calcryx. I also take time to fill my waterskin with water of firebreath.
We go to the room with the other fountain, and it is filled with triggered pit traps. When we manage to get closer, it appears the fountain no longer works.
I decide that I'd like to try out the potion of firebreating, and manage to convince Draxon to open a nearby door that we suspect has rats, given the foul smell emanating from it. Turns out we were right. Inside are a number of giant rants and also a diseased rat. After I blast one with my fire breath, Draxon has an incredible throw of his javelin and somehow it passes completely evicerates the diseased rat and pins it against the wall.
After dispatching the rats, we enter the room and find 100sp, bow, arrows, studded leather armor, torches, and a waterskin.
We head back south after Uttu hears goblin footfalls and voices to the south. They must have returned with news from their leader. They insist we give them our weapons before entering, and a number of us refuse. Instead, Fel and I decide to enter in exchange for one of the goblins.
We pass by a very large number of goblins and enter a circular room, and have a conversation with the Chief. We decide to work together to remove the Kobolds, but he wants us to come up with a plan, and collateral. He gives us a day to think it over. In the meantime, one thing we learn is that there is a dark druid named Bealox that is working with them to create poisonous apples, though I'm not entirely sure what they are doing with them. This makes me recall a quest we were told about in Melvaunt. Regardless, it would seem we will need to deal with these goblins at some point, despite our temporary truce.
