Mentality
Personal history
I was born in a small port town and spent most of my time watching the ships come and go. Never knowing my parents but was raised by friends of my father in the aristocratic Aymeri House. Shortly after my 22nd birthday, I was asked to aid Calhar Rilynnzea, a family friend of the Aymeri's. The whole way there I had a feeling of dread, I'm not even sure how to explain it, just a feeling like something wasn't right. We got to Calhar's manor and after 3 days of hearing and seeing no one, I was summoned to a room. I was then forced to read something, to which a voice answered back. After a conversation a pact was formed. With my new powers, I burned Calhar alive and his manor to the ground, not even caring who else might have been in the home. Upon realizing what I had done, I fled, finding myself in the Underdark.
While in the Underdark she met a group of adventurers’ and accompanied them on their journey. When they encountered one of the new "leaders" down there her and Al, one of the other party members fled. This led to her falling 120ft and nearly breaking every bone in her body on impact. They both took a few months to recover and felt bad about leaving the other members behind, but they both believed there was nothing they could do. If they had stayed, they'd both be dead along with them.
They soon found themselves meeting up with new faces and formed another party with these creatures. A mousefolk cleric named Hawkwheet and a half-orc barbarian named Dun Hud. We decided it was best to try and stop this necrotic shadow from spreading on this plane, which started not far from the town we were at. We sound found ourselves, with the assistance of Larissa, in the Shadowfell via a portal. Some of us experienced visions and those visions became a reality for everyone to see while in the Shadowfell. We also met a human wizard named Inara there. She was a bit odd and "off”, but we invited her to join us. We discovered several diary entries by a Melana Beltas who was going by Ziggeh Iuveghki a follower of the Whispered King. I also picked up, before leaving the Shadowfell, an artifact item that was known as the Crown of Night that is an artifact of illusion magic.
The group was summoned, upon getting back to Amberkeep, by the King of Stonefort, a town to the north. They decided to hire a wagon and driver, named Fredrick, and began that journey. Over the course of weeks, I developed a romantic relationship with Fredrick, as well as an interesting relationship with the Crown of Night and I had many conversations with it. The Crown decides to hide itself for 14 days and I had 14 days to find a missing gem piece from it.
The next day we all set off again and when passing Bastion, I had Fredrick stop and got off the wagon and went inside. Al and Hawk following me as Dun and Inara stay with the wagon. We made their way down more and more and after crossing a certain point, realizing that every time they cast a spell, they take damage. I began to get worried when we arrived at a certain part where we would have to get inside a cage to go down. Attempting to go back upstairs again, but the strong gusts of wind prevented me from leaving. My party members finally ended up dragging me to the cage and we made our way down.
Upon entering the final room, a voice can be heard from the inside of a locked enclosure. It asks for help and asks to be let out. There is also a chest near this “person’s” enclosure a locked one. They try getting the chest open but to no avail. I then get the brilliant idea of freeing this ‘person’ After letting him out and he notices the Crown on my head, he grabs me and stabs me, and we all begin the fight. It is revealed that he is a vampire named Y’mirul the Blood Drinker and an old one at that, we defeat him, and he flees as a misty form. The chest becomes unlocked and upon opening it a gem is inside which is for the Crown of Night and I place it in the missing slot, waking it up. It is very happy with its recovered gem piece and teleports us out of the room we are in and onto the entrance of the Grey Bastion
We meet up with Fredrick and Dun again and continued on the journey. I overhear Dun talking to Al about taking the Crown, Al said something along the lines of “you know she can hear us right?” This caused me to panic and quickly shapeshift into my cat form. Sitting on Fredrick’s lap for the rest of that day, fear and anger building up inside me. Night was coming so we stopped at a farmhouse that was just a little out from Stonefort and if it weren’t for the snow, we would have been able to see it from there. They talked to the house owner and after some persuasion they were told they could stay in the small building next to the house. I remained in my cat form and slept while the others did as well, Dun took first watch then Inara. While Inara was taking watch, I was awakened by someone or something making a move to grab my collar from my neck. Waking up and determining it to be an elf male, but he went through the window to escape. I used Mislead to chase him but wasn’t able to find him. Seeing Inara and the conversation turned into catnapers and perverts.
In the morning the group continued its journey. While I was pretending to be reading, I had a conversation with the Crown of Night. Asking for it to hide itself from everyone, not just the guards but my travelling companions as well. It is confused by this request but still complied with it. Spotting the outline of Stonefort, the city, for the first time I was amazed at the site. Spending some time trying to talk to Fredrick, but his responses and all seem like he’s just happy to leave and go on his merry way once they get there. Hurt by this realization she goes inside the wagon and begins writing a letter. My expression growing sadder and angrier with each stroke of the pen as the betrayal I felt is becoming greater.
Finishing the letter and placing it in my bag as a male elf child hops on the back of the wagon and peers inside. Realizing that he was hungry I gave him five silver coins and in return he says, “the Signet watch over you and your help” as well as giving me a small wooden carved fox. After this, other children try to hop on the back of the wagon each holding out their hands. A male elf by the name of Rolde Faringray comes up and gets the children off the wagon and tells us that their families aren’t allowed in the city. He also said that the Signet isn’t perfect, but they are safe and upon pulling up his sleeve he shows us a red tattoo of a fox face. Rolde then asked if we had a name for our group and we tell him we are known as the ‘Watchers of Clarity’. We stop in front of one of the inns in the Tiller’s Village where I again try to speak with Fredrick but felt blown off making me angrier and more upset.
That night in the inn, I just grew more and more upset. Getting a room key for myself and purchased some more I went to my room the rest of the night. There I wrote another letter for Fredrick, though this one was different from the first. Once finished, I left my room and found Fredrick entering the inn just as everyone else is going to bed for the night. Going over to him and asks if I can have a moment to which he follows me outside and we have a talk which ends on a better note. Saying goodnight to each other, I go to my room, burning both the letters with a candle in the room. After the letters are burned her patron appears to her with a task. The task of killing the Archdruid as well as destroying the sacred tree in Stonefort. As there isn't a time limit to this, I agree to do it.
Upon waking and heading downstairs they decide today they will enter the city. Saying goodbye to Fredrick as he lets us all know he’ll be staying at the Salty Dingy in the Draftwinds. Al, Hawk, and I make our way to the gate, where we have no issues checking in. Showing them the letter that I have. I also hear about the tree and the druid area after the guard takes one look at Al. At first, I find it hard to believe a tree that size could be in such a place but upon entering the city I see it.
We made our way to see the King stopping every so often to take in the sites and talk to the occasional vendor. I would’ve liked to shop for somethings, but Hawk told me, “no we should see the king first.” Somewhere in all the talking while walking we make a change in our plans and decide upon going to the Mythic Arcanum Sanctum first instead. Upon entering the building, we see a male high elf. He informs the us that in order to have a chance at being allowed magical access in the city/country we should go and investigate things occurring in the undercity. People have gone missing and the one that came back, they had to kill because he was insane with whatever he saw down there. We obtain permission to use magic to help them with anything they might encounter but the timer is 2 days. This causes us to put off meeting and speaking with the king and proceed on this little quest.
Making our way into the undercity via the aqueduct and we got yelled at by someone for even trying to get in this way. We end up talking to a few goblins that tell us of Lucen and how they are able to avoid being killed by him. Al detects that the goblin is telling the truth but possibly leaving things out. The goblin points in the direction that Lucen could be found and we proceed that way. I end up discovering blood on the walls and we follow it. Eventually finding Lucen, who is a gibbering mouther, and Hawkwheet is knocked out. Al is killed. I end up getting knocked out as well. In this process I reach out to my patron for assistance, to which it comes. Lucen is defeated and Hawk is able to revive Al without many issues.
Heading back to the Mythic Arcanum and learning that we were just set up to do a job with no real promise of anything. However, I still decide to take their test in order to join their guild. The Crown helps me with this task, and I am accepted purchasing a room in the building. The following day Hawk, Al, Inara, and I make our way to see the King. On the way we encounter Dun and he informs us that he is wanted for crimes in this town. Al changes him into a dog and we continue on our way to the Castle.
Unable to speak with the king we undertake another quest to figure out what is going on in part of the city, why a giant sinkhole just happened to appear. Also, should we go down inside it, anything we find must be returned. After Al, Hawk, and Inara make their way out, I send a message to one of the guards telling them, "the orc you're looking for is the dog" and leaves, never to see Dun Hud again. I then go visit Fredrick asking him to move into my small apartment because it's safer. Kissing him with the promise of returning soon.
Our party makes its way down the sinkhole. Using the Crown to "help" by making everything in the sinkhole vanish, this causes us to fall the rest of the way down, didn’t think he would do that. Luckily someone can cast a spell, so we get down safely. Once, at the bottom, we discover there's a laboratory down here finding various notes dealing with "experiments" Upon asking the Crown to remove any possible illusions in the area and we are faced with something known as Subject 21. After a long and creepy fight, we defeat her, but we see no way out of this room they are now trapped in. I ask for the Crowns assistance in teleporting all of them out.
A pressure grows in in my mind, causing me to fall to the ground screaming in pain. Unknown to the others, I find myself talking to the Crown. Telling me something is wrong; something is very wrong. As it speaks my patron appears, having the realization that I process the artifact. Demanding that I just hand it I refuse. This results in an altercation which my warlock powers are revoked and the Crown horribly damaged. In a brief and desperate moment, to keep the Crown in existence, I let it bind itself to me, becoming one with me, granting me new abilities and powers. Coming to consciousness in the room, where the other party members are seconds before the devil, her former patron, appears. After a long and close fight, we force him to retreat back to Hell.
Finding our way out of the room and going down several hallways till we come to a room. Meeting Rolde Faningrey, again, and Delma who are members of a covert group called the Whitestriders. We are told if we join, they can help with the Crown, keeping the Crown safe, and gain access to all the Whitestider's resources, demi-planes, and missions. I join without hesitation as I will not, under any circumstances, part with the Crown of Night.
Arriving at the demi-plane and meeting the other members and leader. We find out their mission is to find all the artifacts that are called the Points of Power. Each one belonging to a school of magic. They are collecting them to keep them out of the hands of those that would use them for evil. Our group is then sent to the Eya Aethel, a swamp, to recover the Aegis Amulet. Arriving and immediately forced into combat with several demons. We meet Revan a shadar-kai and he and my personalities kind of clash. Prompting me to leave taking Al with me. On the demi-plane, Al and I are told of the Sleeping Basin and how the waters aren't acting right around there, and the creatures are becoming more hostile. We leave to go scout and see what's going on there.
Stopping in Amberkeep to get some supplies we find the high elf Jenkins is back in his enchanting shop. After conversation he informs us that some of his greatest friends and powerful friends are dead and their souls are annihilated. Begging Jenkins to join the Whitestriders, as he received his letter months ago for recruitment, he agrees to talk to Beckett. Al and I continue for the Basin. Finding our way to an underwater city and Al's old friend Nena greets him. Informing us that the creatures have become more hostile and a riot in the city has also begun, led by Morys Vingruuth. We decide to venture out to see if we can find what is causing this problem in the area and Morys accompanies us. Encountering some humanoids, we fight our way through. Afterwards the Crown speaks to me, telling me something is wrong with the whole situation, asking me to go back. Al refuses to go so I sadly return by myself. Teleporting into the Demi-plane where I find Scorn, the paladin, and Beckett. Trying to tell them about Al and the situation down there. Scorn seems deadpanned and uncaring. Beckett insists that the amulet is the priority. I go with Scorn to the Swamp but want to finish this mission as quickly as possible.
After finding my other party members and getting filled in with what has been going on in the swamp, we all head back to the village. Acting on a premonition from the crown, I speak with Halimath and catches up with Revan who is also makes his way to the Canopy. Learning about the old Halls of the Dead after researching with Lorelei, Revan and I make our way beneath the Canopy and search for this hidden threat. Shortly after, Al returns and together we discover a chamber behind one of the walls of the burial place of a group called the Heart. Moving further beyond and down a hidden set of stairs we find a moderately sized room with a glowing gem and many dragon eggs that seem corrupted by whatever is leaking in. After taking the gem and removing the draconic threat we return and head for Celedor's cottage to the west.
Meeting with the alchemist again we get Celedor to come out of his house and attempt to assassinate him. However, we fall into a trap that detonates the home, killing the alchemist and finding out that the figure of Celedor was an illusion the whole time. Preparing ourselves we get ready for the ritual meeting up with the Matron, Felren and Ilren outside of Blackrim with 2 town guards in tow. As the demonic and undead hordes fall upon us, fireballs, lightning and powerful strikes removing many of the foes and eventually beheading Celedor. As the figure now headless turns around, worms are seen crawling out and it points to the large pustule and pulls the swarms to itself into the form of the Envoy of the King. Attempting to get the remaining necklaces it conjures powerful black tentacles, and immolates Eda, a sorcerer, to ash. Our group manages to knock the Envoy to the ground and deliver a barrage of powerful strikes. Forcing it to plane shift to escape and forcing it to leave the necklace behind. Our party acquires bits of the fallen creatures as well as the sealed point of power, the Aegis Amulet.
Al and I return to the Whitestrider plane with the amulet handing it over to Beckett. The rest of the party joins shortly after and Revan is invited to join the Whitestriders. We are told that we can take a few months break to while more information is gathered on the next Point of Power. I return home finding Fredrick still living in my apartment and that he's joined the Arcanum. During the rest of the break I learn a few new skills and find out Jenkins did join the Whitestriders.
Going to him for help on matters of getting my contract devolved so that my soul isn't at risk any longer. Jenkins tells me the things I need to do. I had plans on asking the group for help; however, a certain turn of events occur. Causing them to leave on a mission without me I head to Deepgate, to see if I can make any headway on finding Rolde Faringrey.
