Arrives at Deepgate where I approach and ask some of the guards if they have seen my male elven friend, Rolde. They can't recall and I eventually finds someone there that is "in charge" After talking with her, I learn that someone fitting Rolde's description might have gone into one of the towers a while back. Learning a little bit more about the explosion and some events surrounding that. One thing that I made a mental note of was how odd it was that some of the solders were wearing elf ears, when they weren't elves. Who wears fake elf ears?! I assume that something might be in the water or air making the guards a bit 'off'
Entering the tower where the door is already opened. Making my way through several doors and hallways without much trouble. Sometimes seeing humanoid figures with swords but I am able to avoid making any contact with them. I catches the sound of someone breathing and heads towards it, finding a very wounded Lerrisa Berevan. Giving one of the healing pots I had on me to Lerrisa we make our way down a very large hole in the room.
While this bottom layer seems to lack most of the bodies as the previous floor we make their way down a hallway and come to a room where we encounter an interesting creature, named Arodore. Following him, both Lerrisa and myself are ready to attack at any moment, we see him take a stone and put it in a construct thus waking it up. I ask him to remove the stone and the construct lets out a deafening scream. After a conversation with this "one-eyed thing" it is made clear that this is the one I've heard about, from Al, that can read minds. A deal is offered and I reject it moving to attack him but he flees, shutting a door and locking it behind him. I pick up a stone from the nearby table and tries to bring a construct to life again, a thought of having that break the door down. Instead the construct cracks and then something very very big is heard running towards them in the halls.
Making a run for it Lerrisa and I sprint down a few hallways till they come to a very nice looking room. I recognize a male elf inside the room. I have found Rolde but something appears to be "off" he's hunched over and seems completely unresponsive to all the noise that is echoing through the halls. This massive eyeless creature enters the room, prompting me to cast Death Ward on myself, fearing that I may have gotten myself into quite a mess.
