The Week in Stonefort

After defeating Srot the group decided some time off was probably a good idea. Not too sure what everyone else did in this time. I spent most of my time either at my home or in Stonefort. However, with the death of the King things aren't like other times I've been here.
 
Riots and factions splitting within the Houses on who should be in charge. Each of the districts has been heavily guarded and House Mirau is using the majority of the military to subjugate the rest of the districts. The commonfolk that I have seen seem to be comfortable by the fact that the General leading the troops is very lenient with the people in trying to restore and maintain order in the streets, he seems to be more favorable to the diplomacy approach. Most of the people here in Stonefort see General Tergud Vold as a hero.
 
House Voletta seems to have barricaded themselves in their own district and are not allowing anyone in or out of it. They seemed to have not been too keen on strangers the first time we went in their area but now it appears much worse.
 
I've also heard various rumors circulating the city of widespread chaos in areas that are occupied by Stonefort and the soldiers being sent out but then none of the Houses claiming them. Fighting has increased between Frostmer and Stonefort and more and more resources from the areas are being taken and used. I've heard the battles are becoming worse now too, with the winter finally ending. One thing I find disturbing though is there are claims that the dead are unable to be revived in some of the areas.
 
I've usually been happy most in Stonefort at the Arcanum. While I've given up my room there I still visit the people there a lot. I was happy to hear that the Mage of Illusion has come out of his coma. I still can't believe the Crown went so far as to do that to him, but then measures for safety made it justified. I can only imagine what might have happened if that mage discovered the Crown of Night that I kept with me. Either way I've not seen him, he's been remaining at home, maybe he's still somewhat recovering. I feel bad for Filli and Crest too, they seem troubled and worried that the City might try to enlist the mages in the Arcanum and they fear if this happens they will be sent to provide assistance in the "troubled regions"
 
I ended up getting closer to Hatea in this time as well. We've been friends for awhile but this time a true bond was formed. At least she'll be safe now from that disgusting Shadar Kai. Like I'm really going to help him get her when he keeps using a Lich over and over again, what an idiot.
