Writing on the Stone Slab

After opening the locked box that we found there was a small jagged fragment of a stone slab. The inscription was mostly clear, however, a few parts were hard to make out
 
The Light had always been \\\
All the rays eminating from the bright star
Life, death, physical, ethereal, arcane, gods, arcane, time, thought, dreams.
The Light was one, leading all to its light.
 
Beware the \\\\\\ that would seperate it
The bright star \\\ darkened \\\ six and one
For the King will create much to devour \\\ grow
Monster, now god, a creature of cruel apathy
Hunting for all and craving its hidden empathy
 
Trapped where none \\\\\ \\ the lost god king
