After the party’s departure for Illidost, Syrgus was presented with a veritable world of choices. Yet, he had to choose wisely against a growing sea of enemies.
After the meal with Cesstecia, Calista departed from the inner Viod and wandered about the premise in deep contemplation. Would she do this? Could she do this? Failure could mean her own death and damage to Atamani reputation. Success could mean the complete reorientation of Astorian power.
Orin and Blackwolf speak with Sigerius and the other Lothlanders. It is an extended, perhaps rather awkward conversation. On the way out, Orin tells Blackwolf about the assassination of Cesstecia.
A great many notes passed across the continent during this tumultuous period. This is a simple back-to-back collection of those notes. A certain amount of context will be lost with them out of place, but the manners of recording were worse in those previous years.
Calista and Orin speak about a few things after they encounter one another in a hallway. He pulls her aside and tells her not to speak about Vallisia or anything of the sort near the servants.
The party arrives at the camp of the Abat Narhel. Calista negotiates with the leadership therein and works out a deal where the Atamani will assist with scouting in exchange for protection.
Cravin informs Blackwolf that her people are “safe” in Sohenas. The Ácolitus worshippers have departed the place and are marching with Xhaldarius. Shortly after, the party lands on the shore and their transport ship departs for safety.
The dawn came upon Othos with Éshabal in the east. A negotiation was at hand. Syrgus desired to speak with Oselen Garlen and solve the question of arms with words instead- his personal specialty.
Xhaldarius and Blackwolf have a conversation about a killing and death. She explains that she can’t get the faces of the killed out of her head! Xhaldarius knows with a certain, eons old knowing.
Orin and Cravin recount their expedition to Illidost to Calista. They explain how Syrgus is not a terrible tyrant and that the Tarphry are indeed Aemar warriors.
Xhaldarius travels to Worthend and speaks with Sagar Aurick, who rules over those people. He attempts to negotiate some arrangement wherein the Vestidians assist against Syrgus.
My children are insolent beasts, driven to destroy and maim now as for centuries. They come now because Corgastor and Aebaster are dead, this I know since it was wrought by my own hand. It does not defy Kovûnkal, and their weakness is my strength. My agents are rife in Othos, Xhaldarius most trusted of all, and shall slaughter the Nith’eshan who defy Eshanic order.
Orin and Blackwolf speak about their findings regarding Voryndal and the east. They talk about how traveling eastward doesn’t quite feel right for Corgastor. It doesn’t make sense.
Venon Menar and whatever is left of the Astorian contingent will move toward the Gondomon mountains near Varikon to cause havoc against Syrgus and his allies. Xhaldarius departs to the west in order to court the Vestidians and seek some alliance against the Third Son.
Calista descended into the viod’s prison and spoke with Merrisar while Lyndos Ballisar prepared the 600 remaining loyalists under Baltheris Sythar.
Ballisar, Calista, Glavnibakar, and the Astorians arrived outside the walls of Amastris with their Vallisian escorts. The curtain walls and their sloping towers frowned upon them, and the narrow but steep portal of timber remained shut until the column drew close.
After some time removed from his guests, Syrgus prepared to return. However, he penned a clandestine letter meant for Hirriat and Eryssis.
Calista and Ballisar departed from Viod Amerus with their 650 followers in tow. They traveled west toward the bridge connecting Astoria and Demrazand, and remained in Anomyr for a night.
Blackwolf and Orin seek out Syrgus to speak. They travel out upon the frozen lake to remain isolated in discussion.
Blackwolf, Ballisar, and Calista speak about the prisoner, sparing or killing him, and their plans forward. They talk about where to bring the army within Vallisia. Ballisar suggests marching north and taking another of the border viods. They also discuss control of the military between Xhaldarius, Lytheron/Astoria, and the Vallisians.
The party arrives outside the walls of Illidost after two days of travel. The exterior walls are slightly damaged from the intense fighting, but was been hastily repaired in uncertain manner.
Syrgus and the party accompanying him begin the return march to Illidost. The Third Son asks Xhaldarius the story regarding the judges and his own origins.
Orin and Blackwolf talk about the situation at large, allies, etc. They decide to seek guidance and maintain their faith. Yet, they want to speak with this ‘leader’ and discern the details for security.
Three days after the events of Emelia’s arrival, the crew had become rather cold to the party. They only gathered and spoke in their small cliques without acknowledging those who allowed their ship to be looted by Corgastorians.
Once the party was sufficiently settled, the time arrived to depart once more. The road was difficult and harsh, food supplies were low, and the bitterness of an Othosar winter was felt.
Session starts with Calista speaking with Cravinyol about how their two peoples can assist one another. Cravin explains that he wants to see Othos united once more, though maintained by an impartial ‘order’ of sorts which keeps peace between the many peoples. This order will not be defined by race or class, but by the eternal measure of merit.
The party spent the remainder of the day and night in the dreaded dockside warehouse chosen for them in hasty necessity. Ballisar was alive but barely capable of voluntary movement.
Without significant gains acquired in Methven, the party traveled along the western coast. They wished to gather information, possible allies, and send a second version of Orin’s letter, lest the suspicious Nevanese refuse to send it.
Azidael has meeting with Zykesxys Nesatus Welexes Coxelas-Kiv regarding Nevan and homeland life. He told the merchant master about his travels and some of the encounters therein.
Orin carries Calista to the Corgastorian ship, and they go aboard after calling out to the sentries. The men drop the gangplank and allow them aboard, the master, Ghelonastor as referenced before, approaches them with two attendants.
Ballisar and Azidael have a tense conversation, and then Azidael and Orin speak to one another. Party departs from Dorithin and trudge south toward Thod. Cravinyol, Ballisar, and Calista scoured the dock for a ship to charter. Azidael visited the tradehouse of the Rekeya Yalla’gan. Orin found a large ship bearing a flag with Corgastor's symbol.
Party loots the caves of treasure. Calista gets new armor and gems, others take money. They depart the place afterward and eventually encounter Azidael in the atrium.
Party marches north after trail. They encounter the corpse of a dead youth surrounded by three slain tribesmen.
The rising dawn crept up from the east with tendrils of woven fire, yet the grasp of winter pressed all life beneath a sheen of frost.
Calista, Ballisar, and Orin enter the royal Atamani tent while the Wayfarer and Azidael stay outside. Azidael and the Wyafarer get into some trouble with the Atamani which is quickly diffused by Azidael and his Vojun. The party reconvenes and speak among themselves. Later on the party encounters a mass grave and a burned down refugee camp. The party continues on to Worthend to resupply. The first signs of winter show themselves. The party comes upon The Grove of Dorith and Azidael speaks to Eryssis once again.
Once the party woke up in the morning, they had a lengthy debate regarding their next move. Azidael and Ballisar wanted to march southward and remedy the disease which afflicted Ballisar and Ekess, while Orin wanted to move westward back to Illidost.
Combat among the party ensues, Auron is killed, Azidael is persuaded to stay with the party, and Azidael talks to Eryssis once again.
Orin, Ballisar, Calista, and Wayfarer travel to Fornladur to speak with Lyndos Onar Zenas Aidos and break the bad news.
Faint rays of pale light pierced the shadows between buildings as a new day slowly dawned. The party stirred awake and began to gather among the first floor tables.
The Wayfarer manages to get some horses at a reduced price by winning a joust against the owner. Ballisar fortifies his mind with vojun against the horrid terrors. The party spoke with Lyndos and then split up to do their own things while Ballisar stayed behind to talk more. Azidael and Auron go into Tharsis to find the militia and tell them of the threat posed by the Astorian garrison and Ballisar. The Wayfarer and Orin sell the horses and almost get arrested for it. The party then heads to an inn to discuss how they are going to deal with the militia and rest.

The party travels to Tharsis, and talks of hindering the party are had.
While traveling to Illidost, the party encountered a sizable unit of Varikon's men, and managed to evade being detained, or worse by appeasing the soldiers' prying curiosity with lies. The party ran into the Varikon Horsemen again the next day. Combat ensued, and the party managed to escape with their lives to Illidost. The party spoke to Lytheron and Auron ordered a fresh set of clothes for Azidael.
The party reaches the Atamani camp where Calista's family resides. The party is attacked in the middle of the night by two assassins. Hirriat manages to escape while Eryssis is severely beaten by the party, but they do not kill her. Azidael speaks with Eryssis gaining valuable information, and then lets her go. The party then sleeps for a few more hours before departing the Atamani camp.
How does on escape from a siege, the party pondered? They could attempt a breakout, yet that may be quite costly and deadly. Perhaps surrendering to Syrgus and walking free?
Faint light and morning breeze besieged the house of Gython Mitras as the star of Éshabal rose overhead. The party awoke shortly after 7:00 in the morning, stirring to their feet while the slaves toiled to ignite heart fires and prepare breakfast.
The day is the 12th of Bregad in the year 3468. All five members of the party- Ballisar Ekarin, Calista Artayin, Auron Crowe, Azidael Nek’ekitarn, and the Wayfarer, are in the city of Pyrgoros. The exact reason of their presence is known only to themselves. However, the coronation of Empress Cesstecia Mitras has guided them toward the city.
The party departed for Gython Mitras’ home with Ballisar at their head. Fine houses of Gondamon stone lined the streets along the cobble stone flagged route, each adorned with roof shingles of faded Astorian purple. It was a tense journey, and every member kept their eyes wary for further insurrection or conflicts between the Atamani and Astorians. Thankfully, the trip was peaceful.
