Session 39: Hard Choices, New Titles Report

Venon Menar and whatever is left of the Astorian contingent will move toward the Gondomon mountains near Varikon to cause havoc against Syrgus and his allies. Xhaldarius departs to the west in order to court the Vestidians and seek some alliance against the Third Son.

Calista sings songs along the way. She also works on her engagement object. Cravin works and has difficulty on his stone spearhead which he gathered earlier.

Orin and Blackwolf speak about their plans for the future. It becomes contingent on what happens in Amastris, but assisting with the Vallisians and infiltrating Varikon would be good.

Orin speaks with Calsita about their plan for speaking with Othyrus. They talk about plans to reach the Atamani camp, Varikon, seeing the letters sent by Everos, etc. Calista and Orin speak about their experiences when dealing with Sinestra- the fear, uncertainty. Calista reveals that she managed to convince Sinestra to their side just before her death to the sisters. Calista reveals the existence of her brother in Sohenas serving Ácolitus. They talk about maybe sending word to that brother to ask about Azidael and whether he survived or not. They talk about the judges being outmatched by an army of Nith’eshan which Calista theorizes might come. Calista talks about the Eshan and the Divine Mandates in connection with the Nith’eshan and further events. Cravin throws in his opinion. Calista brings up the plot to assassinate the Tressonara, which baffled Blackwolf quite utterly. Blackwolf was glad that she didn’t consider it nor undertake that roguish task. They decide to burn Cesstecia’s letters and cut communication with her rather than endangering themselves.

Orin speaks to Blackwolf about her conversation with ‘Corgastor’ and what came of it.

The party arrives in Amastris and moves directly toward the inner Viod.

Blackwolf is taken to a chamber within the Viod wherein her uncle and four other Corgastorian companions are resting. They speak at length about the alleged will of Corgastor in having them all travel eastward to parts unknown.

Othyrus pulls Cravinyol aside and asks a number of questions. He makes him an advisor.

Calista and Orin speak with Tressonara Ehel, who remains sick and pregnant. Ehel warns Orin about the diplomatic dangers of becoming involved in this Othosar conflict. They speak on other matters as well, including events in Everos, the Yrd, and other happenings.

Calista and Orin speak with Cesstecia. They tell her about Ballisar’s death. Things go poorly and the ex-Tressonara believes that Calista betrayed her along the way.

Cravin and Orin speak about the advisor position and his new task to escort Orin to Varikon for the sake of the diplomatic treaty.

Calista, Orin, and Cravin go into the throne room and speak with Othyrus about the Cesstecia dilemma. They show him the letters and explain how Cesstecia was undermining the Vallisian position. Othyrus acknowledges the accusation with a breath and then resigns the ex-Tressonara to death. The party can deal with it, since they knew her best.
