Session 22: The Atamani Touchstone Report

Three days after the events of Emelia’s arrival, the crew had become rather cold to the party. They only gathered and spoke in their small cliques without acknowledging those who allowed their ship to be looted by Corgastorians.

Emelia watched as Cravinyol and Ballisar sparred on that morning. Cravin got the better. Calista talks with Ballisar about strategy when dealing with the Atamani in Demrazand. In doing this, she reminded him of the camps Astoria hurled the Asir-Atamani into during the Veld Othosar. They update Emelia about the assassins and their knowledge of the infamous Third Son. Furthermore, Ballisar and others recollect the stories of Pyrgoros and the rise of Syrgus. Emelia speaks with Cravin about his identity and purpose. Another series of duels happen. Calista beats Orin. Emelia barely beats Ballisar.

They dock in a small, rather rustic looking Demhaz village.

They march along a worn, snow covered roadway which meanders north. Eventually, they reach the venerable city of Methven. The vast Atamani camp spread like a field of canvas around the base of the hill upon which the city rested. Ancient walls of timber, dirt, and stone, ranged down from the city walls like jagged teeth, consisting of no fewer than five rows. Tired from the journey, the party kept themselves inconspicuous and followed the cobblestone road which clove through the camp. Making it inside, no guards or agents stopped them. The party sleeps in a visitors’ home procured for free by Hesed Yarzhel. Night passes through without significant problem.

Calista leaves in the morning to pray to Artem and Marasi. Blackwolf prays for religious guidance. She feels warmth and security.

The party, without Calista, speak. They debate the merits of Blackwolf’s people, and moreover the alleged piracy they conduct to survive in some seasons. Blackwolf points out that only one of her people was wounded, and none of the sailors aboard the target vessel.

Calista speaks with Father of Earth of Abat Saghet, named Pazit Ranmozel, about the letter, party’s current situation and disposition, and Syrgus. He explains that tribe will help if Abat Artayin in immediate danger or if Syrgus proves to be broad threat to Atamani survival. Otherwise, it would be unwise to hurl resources into such a complex situation.

Emelia and Orin speak about Corgastorianism and faith. After some time, she takes his hands. They ‘pray’ in silence, and he feels the same peace and security. Blackwolf claims that Corgastor isn’t dead, or lives in some way, and that fact is proven through that feeling. Moreover, she says that not everyone can know about the sensation, but only fellow Corgastorians. They also talk about Ballisar and the party, and whether the jaded nature of Ballisar leads him astray.
