Session 44: At Home Report

Orin speaks with Gerogest about tidings recent and more dated.

Calista and Orin speak about a few things after they encounter one another in a hallway. He pulls her aside and tells her not to speak about Vallisia or anything of the sort near the servants. After they speak, Orin and Calista move to the wine cellar, gather wine, then move toward Cravin. They speak with him.

Orin seeks and finds Blackwolf practicing with her rapier in the courtyard. He sneaks up on her and pleasantly surprises her. At first, they speak about dinner. After, Orin tells Blackwolf about the incredible news of the letter, how the Lornish Ghetod wishes to annex and occupy the old lands of Lothrand for Corgastorians and extend their influence.

When the time arrived, the party gathered for a half-decent dinner. They discuss plans for the future, especially preparing the manor for the worst and where to send a letter to Everos. Furthermore, Blackwolf tells Calista and Cravin about the Eshanic voices which speak to her. Cravin speaks to Orin about what his family did in previous generations, and how the manors came about. Calista and Orin speak about how the Atamani trade, usually within continent, and only vicariously elsewhere.

Orin, Blackwolf, Sigerius, and the other Lothlanders speak in the Eddenvas study. Blackwolf brings up unfortunate information regarding the Eshan. No longer is she required to travel east, since the Eshan concerned intend to travel to Qadal. What the exact ramifications of this development would be were impossible to conjecture. This did mean that the scope was increasing, however. Now the Astorians were fighting Vallisians and Vestidians while the Nith’eshan prepared to face off against their celestial kin.

Calista and Orin speak in the map room about Blackwolf’s potential journey. She is concerned that the outcome might be worse than inaction. They speak further on the subject of Xhaldarius and the plans to gather Vestidian support. Much is uncertain and the future is bleak.

After the brutal conversation, Cravin returns to his room. He starts a fire in the fireplace, then places his dagger within it. He withdraws the firebrand and carves the symbol of Ácolitus upon his chest, biting down in pain and devoting himself to the Creator of All Things.

Orin and Blackwolf speak to one another about everything that had just occurred. Moreover, Blackwolf tells Orin about updates she received from her master. This Corgastor no longer wants her to travel, for the worst is coming to Othos. It is a difficult situation, whether to assist against the Ebal’eshan, Nith’eshan, and Judges versus attacking neutral Demrazand and securing Blackwolf’s homeland. Orin notes that Vhangel is not supportive of the alliance with Vallisia and Acolitus worshippers. Blackwolf asks that everyone who cannot fight in the Golbesh be evacuated while those who can fight are resupplied. Orin is rather overwhelmed and needs to think, he departs but Blackwolf gives him a large hug first.
