297 killed (many executed) and 105 wounded and 11 captured Vallisians during the battle, and 303 killed and 140 wounded Astorians in battle. The attack was meant to be a lightning strike to weaken the defenses for the season ended.

Auron shows his powers to Lytheron, who is both awed and terrified by the display. He asks Auron about his origins and how such power came upon him, but the mercenary gives him no direct answer. Lytheron allows him to depart. When Ballisar arrives from the battlefield, the commander requests that they speak. Ballisar follows along and they discuss Auron and his loyalties. He explains that if Auron cannot be secured on the side of the Empress, then he must be destroyed.
