Session 40: The Tressonara’s Sleep Report

Calista finds more specimens of the poison plant meant to kill Cesstecia.

Cravin speaks with Cesstecia at length.

Calista prays to Artem and Marasi about the Eshanic dilemmas.

Orin and Blackwolf talk about Blackwolf’s latest encounter with ‘Corgastor’ or the voices which communicate with her.

Orin and Blackwolf speak with Sigerius and the other Lothlanders. It is an extended, perhaps rather awkward conversation. On the way out, Orin tells Blackwolf about the assassination of Cesstecia. They arrive in Cravin’s room and ask him about progress. He explains that it’s still to be seen. Blackwolf is rather baffled and disgusted with the plan, and asks who devised it. Cravin explains that Calista didn’t burn the letters, but offered them up, leading to this. Blackwolf and Orin went searching for Calista to question her. Calista defends herself by explains how Cesstecia blackmailed her unfairly. Blackwolf calls this a matter of petty revenge rather than anything else. Blackwolf tells her that she’s leaving tomorrow, and that Calista can come if she’d like to accompany. Orin remains behind to speak. He tells her that the time will come to make amends and figure things out. Orin departs and Calista goes to find Cravin.

Calista speaks with Cravin. She tells him that Blackwolf is upset. She also mentions how Orin, Blackwolf, and the Corgastorians are intending to leave in the morning.

Orin speaks with Blackwolf. They talk about the difficulty of the situation, their opinions on it. Orin also tells Blackwolf about the existence of Tressonara Ehela, who is Othyrus’ wife and titular follower of Corgastor. Orin asks about what topics might interest Sigerius and the other Corgastorians. They talk more about her family in the Golbesh and how they live. They also talk about what path to take toward Varikon.

Over the night, Othyrus visits Cravin. He tells him that a guard awoke him with news that their prisoner was coughing and choking, causing an annoying stir. He tells Cravin to finish his job. He steps into the room where the young Tressonara is dying and sits beside her. He hands her a glass of water. As she drinks, he takes a dagger and plunged it through the back of her neck, killing her within moments.

Calista and Cravin speak the next day.

Calista, Cravin, and Orin speak with Tressonar Othyrus, thanking him for his hospitality and telling him about their future endeavor to travel toward Varikon. Callista mentions the Atamani again, but Othyrus is skeptical and brushes off the information with a gruff nod.
