Session 8: Onward to Tharsis Report

Party prepares to depart early the next day. Auron gathers up the garments he purchased for Azidael. Ballisar speaks to Lytheron, who gives him a box with a vial of poison hidden within. The first day of travel passes without significant instance.

That night, the party settles into camp along the route to Tharsis, which Azidael convinced them to travel toward rather than Demrazand. During that night, Eryssis approaches Azidael in the night. She and Hirriat have been watching with interest. She offers for them to go for a walk, and the two of them discuss their equal perplexing situations. They were, in her words, both bound by invisible forces to pursue crossing paths. She suggested an accord between them. Azidael would help expedite the end of this war by compromising the works of the party, and she would use… her power to assist him. Ballisar passes the night in terror, as the corruption of his mind by Ackesh began to show. His dreams were nothing but a horrid mesh of color, light, and sound rushing through consciousness.

In the night, the Wayfarer notices distant fire, perhaps two miles away. It is his time on watch, and he rides out to inspect. He gets close, and sees that the village is being razed and destroyed by armored assailants. The poor people are put to the sword and their land destroyed. The Wayfarer decides to ride back to the party and warn them, then suggest they depart with haste.

During the day, the party encounters a village where criers of Syrgus are rallying support. They decide not to challenge them. Ballisar remains and calls out to the people- warning them of the burning village rather than denouncing Syrgus. The crier uses that opportunity to bolster the message of Syrgus, and the terrified people begin to rally around the man and his allies.

Roleplay and discussion occurs along the road during that day.

Arrival in Tharsis during the evening, they party experiences no further dangers and gets a room. At around the same time, soldiers from the garrison at Old Ancotar arrive at Tharsis.
