The purpose of this feature is to increase User Experience of users navigating through the Feature Voting Board a.k.a. Community Feature Voting.
It is proposed that this issue could be resolved by highlighting the features the user has already voted for, e.g., by changing the background color of the feature block on the board.
I believe this implementation would increase the readability of the Feature Board, resulting in better experience of the users and encourage them to use it more often.
It would shorten the time needed to see new features by using color code instead of reading the titles one by one.
In general form this links an attribute or a set of attributes of a user to a parameter/parameters of the presentation layer. Should this feature be implemented by highlighting the voted features, it could be re-used in similar form in the Discussion Boards. It could also be used in other places, where content/presentation is to be linked to an attribute of a single user (e.g., voted for this article in this case, player stats, etc.) or a party of users/players (where certain features/secrets, etc. could only be visible, once the party holds a cetain set of items, stats, etc.)
A similar feature request was posted in the past in similar form but did not reach the threshold:
Both were closed and were not implemented due to the lack of support.
yes please. :) This would help navigate the suggestions so much better and it seams like an "easy" fix.
Even just before I clicked onto this suggestion, I had clicked onto a suggestion that I thought was great but already voted for.
This seems like a great idea! Would help if ones we clicked on but didn't vote on also changed color to signify 'read'.
I did finally find the one little sentence that tells me I voted on an issue, but a better system of visual cues, such as color changing would save a lot of frustration and a little time. I'm still pretty new to the whole system, so anything that helps it be more intuitive and easier to comprehend (so I can fret over the tougher stuff) is a plus. For instance: If it's blue, I've read it. If it's green, I up-voted, and red, I gave it a thumb's down.
I'd really like to see this, and a way of checking my own suggestions. Currently, I can't easily find my suggestion without searching for it, a quick link reading "My suggestions" on the right-hand side would be great!
some method of seeing what I've already voted on - either a colour change or a flag to view only those or all but those I've voted on would increase usability.
I like the idea of seeing which requests you've voted on previously. I also believe that, while this hasn't garnered much attention in the past, it would be a good user experience improvement while also being fairly easy to implement.
Dimitri said the last time this was suggested it didn't reach the target 300 votes in 20 days, but to re-suggest later. So, go tell it from the mountain to every other subscriber you know! For those of us who try to contribute to the development of WA, this would be a great quality-of-life improvement.
Voting -> Highlight (or Hide) Items I've Voted On - This one by Ademal also had 46 votes
Would love for some marking to notify users what they have already voted on, but I thought Dimi said it would be too hard. If it was only denied for lack of support, I will show this one some support! Thanks for bringing this back up again God bless you.
