United Protectorate of the Concordant Voice
Structure
The Lord Protector is the head of the organisation and can directly lead the union. They are elected by the Speakers which are the leaders of the individual member states, but does not need to have been a Speaker themselves.
The Speakers can nominate anyone to be voted in, but the more prominent the better the chance. This is the main political machinations that run behind the Protectorate, with the Speakers manoeuvring to get their chosen nominee elected Lord Protector and to remain in office for the full 10 years.
Any landowner in any state in the protectorate is given the right to vote, and each state votes for their speaker.
The population eligible to vote are referred to as the Chorus.
Public Agenda
The Protectorate believes that it is their role to expand the protectorate to encompass the whole planet. This doctrine is founded upon the co-operation and mutual protection and assistance of each of it's member states.
History
The Protectorate was created following a peace treaty signed at the end of the Great Tanzel War.
Prior to it's inception, the Protectorate was a large continent of unconnected nations. Border disputes and skirmishes were commonplace and large scale battles were fought for resources and to oust neighbours. The spark that ignited the Great War was lit by Tanzel Kruig. The Tanzel Warlord Ang Goran had succeeded in uniting the clans of Tanzel Kruig and brought a reign of peace and prosperity the like of which had never been seen. The Hobgoblin's achievement had shown his neighbours the benefits of harmony within one's borders; raising Tanzel Kruig from petty squabbling tribes to a nation of prosperity and strength; one not to be easily trifled with.
That all changed, however, when the line of succession passed to Ang Goran's son.
Twins Davilus and Davinae Goran sat upon a one of the greatest nations in the known realm. He was hungry for more; however, he was not his father. Politicking and diplomacy was not his forte and he used the accumulated might of the united Tazel tribes and set about a campaign of invasion. His sister who took after her father in all the ways Davilus did not, opposed this course of action publicly. Unable to kill his sister out of both love and honour, he instead imprisoned her as a traitor.
As formidable as they were united, Davilus miscalculated the outcome of his tyrannical intrusion into other tribes' land. At first, unaware and surprised, Davilus and his forces swept through the lands surrounding the Tanzel Kruig, but as months became years, word spread and an impregnable defence could be organised. The Tanzel army withdrew and headed south, meeting the same.
Eventually the Tanzel Kruig expedition was surrounded, a united ring of threatened tribes closing in. Davilus' sister Davinae was released from prison by rebel forces who stormed the Tanzel Kruig capitol while it was poorly defended and vulnerable. Rumours were quick to spring up. Some spoke of Davilus arranging for the attack on the prison because he wished to surrender but his pride would not let him. Davinae and the united rebels that freed her then captured Davilus, incarcerating him in the same prison he had put his sister years before. Davinae raised the white flag on behalf of the Tanzel Kruig force.
The council of the leaders of the united rebel forces was convened. They penned a peace treaty that divided Tanzel Kruig as the spoils of war. Davinae did not agree with the strict sanctions that this draft would have caused on the Tanzel Kruig, instead she proposed a new united era for all nations. Brought together by the greater threat posed by Tanzel Kruig, realised they too were stronger together than apart and decided to offer an amended peace treaty that also maintained cohesion and unity. They agreed that as one consolidated dominion they too could wield the might that Tanzel Kruig once did; allowing them to aid, assist, trade and defend one another from invaders foreign, and domestic.
These treaty discussions, headed by Davinae Goran, would become the foundation of the Protectorate.
Wishing to stop such and occurrence from ever happening again The Protectorate was born.
N.B. The hypocrisy of fighting wars to end wars is not lost on the Protectorate, however they believe that their expansion across the world is necessary and also will be the last war ever fought.
Demography and Population
Each nation has their own , though more migration between nations occurs under the protectorate than before.
Elves have made their home here despite not being native to the continent, attracted by the new peace in a place they previously saw as barbaric. Due to their long lives and low birthrate they have not impacted the population as a whole in a significant manner. However they have displaced lizardmen as the primary population of Hybor.
The population in all member states has steadily grown, fewer dying in wars and better access to food have seen to that.
Religion
The United Protectorate of the Concordant Voice believes in a pantheon of Gods. The ruler of the greater Gods is Zelos. Direct worship however tends to be performed to a lesser God.
In the Modern Age loyalty to the protectorate and its message is considered by many to supersede religious belief.

Founding Date
The calendar was set to 0 at the signing of the Concordant Accord. A symbolic gesture that washes away the sins of the past with the rise of the new, great nation, and with it the dawning of a new, great age.

Each member state can use their own currency. However it is Protecorate law , that all members must accept coins and promise notes from the Soprani Bank as legal tender.
Legislative Body
The Lord Protector and Speakers decide all federal laws that are to be implemented across the Protectorate.
Judicial Body
Once a Protectorate law is enacted, the judicial body of the member nation becomes responsible for interpreting and enforcing the law. The Speaker and any delegates of his are responsible for ensuring the transition of these new laws into their member nation.
