Hybor

Public Agenda

Hybor is a country of artistic freedom and endeavour. The population is incredibly small and they value art and its pursuits above all else. They rely heavily on the Protectorate for protection and food, but in exchange it is the favoured home of the elite and wealthy. In general a selfish nation, it does however provide assistance to other nations in providing access to literacy, after all you can't make money of your latest masterpiece if no one exists who can read it.

Demography and Population

The natives of Hybor are lizardfolk, but they have long been oppressed into a tiny minority. As the home of the elite the population tends to change to represent whatever is successful at a moment in time. Elves tend to favour here for family homes.

Military

None of any significance. A state guard is formed usually of 50-75 people and almost always formed of martial artists and creative magicians. Picked for artistic and aesthetic qualities this guard would not be considered a viable fighting force.

Education

The highest of all the protectorate, anyone who has academic aspirations will strive to make it in Hybor. However the people most likely to make it already live there. So outsiders often become incredibly eloquent footmen and chambermaids.
