Structure
The Speaker is their representative in the Protectorate and is the ultimate authority as is the case in all Protectorate states.
Lord Commander is the head of the Army and defacto ruler of the day to day operations
Public Agenda
Historically this land was one of war and expansion, however they have embraced fully the role they have within the Protectorate. Most often the moderate voice in any discussion regarding expansion, they still however maintain their old code of honour and any slight must receive reparations. However this is no longer always in the form of blood.
Assets
Large deposits of steel, that were once mined by slaves but now are mined by paid employees.
History
The geographical area that now makes up the Tanzel Kruig was originally many different Hobgoblin tribes. The Goran tribe led by Ang Goran began a campaign to unite all the Hobgoblin tribes. Implementing the first mandatory schools in order to have not only a competent fighting force but an educated one which lead to his succesful campaign. Ang proved his honour and skill but added compassion and wisdom to the Hobgoblin identity. Once he died his children Davilus and Davinae inherited the newly formed Tanzel Kruig.
Davilus imprisoned Davinae and began the war that would define the Protectorate. However the hot headed Davilus was viewed by many to be disrespecting his father's achievements and so Davinae was free and defeated her brother in single combat, siezing Tanzel from him.
She then brokered peace, creating the Protectorate and becoming the first Lord Protector.
Demography and Population
The vast majority of the population are Hobgoblins, and the region is their ancestral homeland. However any sapient species is welcome to live there and lives mostly free of prejudice as long as they follow the laws of the land. Population growth is high as war used to shave the population down considerably. So many Hobgoblin's leave Tanzel Kruig and so they can be found across the planet.
Military
All civic positions are equally military positions , Tanzel see no need to distinguish between the two. So the military is the largest entity in the country. They provide many soldiers for the Protectorate, so oddly in day to day life there are normally many more administrators and the like in the military than soldiers as those held solely by the Tanzel are quite small in number.
Agriculture & Industry
Tanzel are considered magicians with iron and steel and so their weapons are prized by all and their most well known produce. However anything made of metal constructed here is considered of the finest quality. Kings and Empresses will have chamber pots made of Tanzel Iron.
In terms of agriculture they were originally subsistence farmers but have now moved into basic farming but no where near the industrial scale of Agric. Horsemeat and root vegetables make the majority of the agricultural output. Tanzel food is considered simple by many other nations , but has some popularity in foreign markets.
Dire Wolves are bred for everyday transport and take much of the cultural place of horses. Tanzel Dire Wolves are therefore much calmer and domesticated leading to them resembling large Huskies or Wolfdogs. In the past they would be let loose to hunt for wild cattle but as Tanzel society grows, goats and pigs are often raised to feed the Wolves either as a replacement or supplement to the cattle.
Trade & Transport
They export their steel all across the world. The work animals that pull their caravans of goods are Dire Wolves and Oxen. Horses are used as mounts by the rich but it is seen as an imported custom.
Education
All children attend school from age 5 until Adulthood. All schools are run as part of the Military and so is quite egalitarian, however nothing is truly equal and so the children of high ranking officers tend to achieve more with their education than others.
