Ang grew up in a time when literacy was not prized by the Hobgoblin race. However Ang spent as much of his time reading as he did learning to fire his bow and at his family forge. This shaped him and was the driving reason that he implemented mandatory education once he rose to power.

Employment

Initialy he took over his families forge and became a smith of renown that led him to becoming the local chief.

Taboos

Pride in iliteracy was not to be taken around him. Anyone who boasted about their inability to read or refused his command to learn would not make the same mistake again and would learn the reason that the Gentle General was not Gentle due to lack of strength.
