Irewa, Keyrit, and Ugo-yt: A Mother and Sons

  • 185 OA

    Formation of the Koreroigar
    Founding

Irewa has had a roughly centralized government for as far as history records, but this was the moment that the Irewan nation announced that it was a fully autonomous entity to the rest of the world. It had stiff competition at the time, with the Werai and Yukuric empires already in full swing. Nonetheless, it proved to be a worthy competitor.

  • 35 OA — First Volcanic Eruption
    Omvim Perrem Constructed
    Construction beginning/end

It was an engineering miracle that something that tall with so little a base could withstand a heavy pyroclastic flow. There were great carvings upon it, names of individuals, and paintings along its inside walls.

  • 23 OA — Second Volcanic Eruption
    Dawn of Eirp Pamorp
    Religious event

The theming of the religious symbolism is apocalyptic but surprisingly cheerful. The Irewans seemingly didn't demand the volcanic eruption, but they still welcomed it readily. Imagery sees people ascending through dark clouds into paradise, where they are bathed in light.

  • 0 OA/KTG — Third Volcanic Eruption
    Flight of the Ireri Perre
    Geological / environmental event

This was the catalyst that forced the Ireri Perre to migrate eastward. The strength of their people could only push them so far; now they needed a land which could support that strength. They would find suitors in the continents of Yatkaugo and Keyrit.

    Welokyi Wars
    Military action

At the time, there was no legacy of a uniting force on the continent. In fact, the last country to incorporate all those peoples was the empire of Irewa. Rather than reuniting the peoples under the new banner of Irewa, the king established a new nation, named both after the new continent they inhabited and the new culture they adopted: The Daskalarch Order of Keyrit.

    Tikwe Kiwekawu
    Life, Birth

The peak of his career in Eryai Retwerai coincided with a massive economic, cultural, and military renaissance for the Keyrit Daskalarchy. The small nation was about to burst with energy. They needed a focus for that energy, a face with which they could associate the changing times. Many faces arose to answer the call, and Tikwe's was one of them.

    Doyog Pact, Formation of
    Diplomatic action

The only nation on par with the Wlitowa Authority and the Keyrit Order at the signing of the Great Union of Doyog Mountain was the T'kakou Empire of Ugo-yt, without which the Doyog Pact would easily have been a hegemony. As a result, the Ugo-yt did its best to play Keyrit off of Wlitowa and vice-versa in an attempt to maintain the balance of power.

    Omvim Perrem Discovered
    Discovery, Exploration

The Corner Tower, as it came to be called, was discovered after the Tuhran Wars, when Keyrit looked towards expansion and development after securing its borders. An explorer returned to the native homeland of the Keyrit-Welokyi, the island of Irewa, to discover what early society was like.

    Hunt for Peat Burners
    Expedition

The Ugo-yt Empire chose to learn from this engagement. The cheap products that came from industrialism could equip a mighty host. Factories and cash flow could bludgeon an enemy to death long before the first swords clashed. Perhaps it was time that the Ugo-yt had a Welkwu of its own...

    Keyrit's Gambit
    Military action

After Keyrit's Gambit, though, both sides were forced to look at their relationship with more sobriety. They were sibling nations, sure, but they were also significant actors on the world stage. They had chosen mutually exclusive allies and interests, and they would inevitably act on those interests. From then on, both sides operated under the expectation of a war of aggression from the other side.
