Retrougo: Lively East
Geography
The region extends to the world's Arctic Circle and descends into a peninsula. The Yatwerai Ugoyi sits on its western border; the Netwerai Ugoyi, its eastern. Farms and towns line the coastline and extend through the middle of the territory, while forests cover the rest of the area. The trees near the south look deciduous but never lose their leaves in periods of cold, while the evergreen trees often grow less than a human's width apart from each other, making the forest literally untraversable.
Fauna & Flora
Practically all animals across the world can live on Retrougo in relative comfort, but there are still hundreds of species of both flora and fauna. Many have yet to be discovered, while still others complete their entire cycle, from genetic distinction to extinction, outside of the gaze of humanity. The food chain has ten tiers, from plants to the two top species- the four-hearted kereyatan, and the human. Retrougo is one of the few places where strict carnivores are on the menu- and for a very cheap price at that! Most herbivores don't react as harshly to their fellow prey getting eaten as in other regions. Because the area is so lush, the herbivores' primary response to being hunted is simply to breed more and breed faster.
Natural Resources
The lands of Retrougo continuously have large deposits of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, sources which seemly cannot be depleted. As a result, crops of any type can grow there year-round, without the need for fertilizer or crop rotation. Because farms can provide for the populace, large forests abound. A large biosphere provides its inhabitants with a fur industry, an ivory industry, and many other key bio-products. However, aside from life-providing minerals, the land is devoid of heavy metals, providing no specific wealth in the ground.
