Klodorex Settlement in Warhammer Fantasy, Scale Universe | World Anvil

Klodorex

Klodorex is a Kahoun, the Lizardmen temple city equivalent of a "town".   Klodorex was built and and continues to be maintained in order to safeguard the Monument of Izztal and the four mountain temples near it. Together the Monument and the four temples harness an intersection of major magical ley lines.

Demographics

At any given point, there are normally between 4000 and 6000 Skinks and between 200 and 300 Kroxigor.   The Saurus population swings widely typically numbering between 400 and 1000 Sauri.   About 68% of the Skinks are worker caste skinks, typically blue skinned with tan crests.   About 20% of the Skinks are Sotek caste skinks, typically light green with bright red crests.   About 12% of the Skinks are Beast caste skinks, typically dark green with dark red crests.   There are usually about 25 Skink Chiefs and 20 Skink priests at any given time, skinks born for greatness. There are usually about 50 to 100 honored elders, skinks who gained a leadership position from their deeds.

History

~4800 Before Sotek, The mightly Slann Izzatal sacrifices himself to destroy many Daemon at the ley line intersection at Mount Klodor. It just so happens that four of the most prominent demon lords banished in this event were Korshalork, Darfiel, Thazerick, and Locklirist.     ~4000 Before Sotek, High Elf explorers see the Golden Mountain (aka the Monument of Izzatal) on top of Mount Klodor. They attempt to retrieve it but turn back and return to Ulthuan after being subjected to the natural dangers of the Biting Bogs. Survivors eventually make sure the "Golden Mountain" finds its way onto every elven map of Lustria.     1 After Sotek, Tehenhuain begins prophesizing Sotek’s arrival. As the war progresses, Klodorex sees very little fighting near their territory but many Skinks, Kroxigor, and Sauri from Klodorex join Tehenhauin’s army.     ~50 After Sotek, Turochlitan takes on its first human settlers.     ~60 After Sotek The Kahoun of Yalthera is irreparably destroyed and tainted by Clan Pestilens.     ~100 After Sotek An avatar of Sotek appears, seemingly obliterating the Skaven as they attempted to flee east.   ~320 After Sotek @Fall     ~1000 After Sotek A tribe of savage orcs and goblins dwelling in the Reeking Mire names a geyser their new Warboss in perpetuity, dubbing themselves the Burn Face Tribe of Savage Orcs     ~1800 After Sotek The vampire known as Count Renliss’ Journeys to Lustria and gets his destiny entangled with the Lizardmen of Klodorex.     ~1850 After Sotek A Storm of Magic attracts a large invading army of Dark Elves which is defeated in an event known as the Scouring. Shortly thereafter, all the Slann of Klodorex disappear without a trace. Skink priests hide this for almost two hundred years.     2025 After Sotek, The vampire Renliss allies himself with the wraithly fallen Chaos priestess Kayishen.     ~2050 after Sotek, the unlikely hero, Kaitar, reunites the Slann of Klodorex with the other Lizardmen     ~2100, A party of Skinks goes off on a quest for a lost artifact and ends up unexpectedly journeying to the Southlands.     ~2110, Klodorex expatriats help orchestrate an alliance between the Southlands Lizardmen and Southlands dwarves of Karak Zorn.     ~2115 The Chaos sorceress Adrienne tries to free the daemons imprisoned by Klodorex.     ~2120 The vampire lord Renliss and the vampire commodore Luther Harkon   ~2122* After Sotek Work in progress piece, probably will be called Strange Blood   ~2550 After Sotek Lizardmen become Seraphon and we reset the calendar to zero (unless I decide to write a different version of the ENd Times)

Tourism

On a clear day, the top of Mount Klodor shines golden. The monument of Izzatal is gold plated but superstitious and greedy treasure seekers assume it is solid gold. A lot of outsiders attack Klodorex seeking the gold.   A rare few outsiders know that the real treasure is not gold, but the magical power of the ley line intersections and magical savvy raiders have tried to capture it.   For most of it's history, other Lizardmen paid little attention to Klodorex. By Slann standards, their ruler Merestar was considered a foolish dreamer rightfully regulated to a bit post.   After one of Merestar's crazy plans actually worked and Klodorex became Lustria's only telepathic conduit to the Southlands, Klodorex began regularly receiving Slann visitors (along with large delegations of the body guards and servants of said visiting Slann).
