Monument of Izzatal

The Monument of Izzatal is a giant stone bust on the top of Mount Klodor representing the head of the Slann Izzatal, plated with gold.

Purpose / Function

The Monument was erected both to memorialize Izzatal and to help the surviving Slann stabilize and on occasion use the magical ley line intersection at the peak of Mount Klodor

Tourism

Mainly the Monument of Izzatal is used by Klodorex's local Slann to harness the magic of the ley lines but sometimes outside Slann visit to use the ley lines. These are generally welcome visitors. The Monument also attracts many unwelcome visitors.   On a clear day, the top of Mount Klodor shines brightly and anyone passing buy on a ship can see the glint. This glint of gold has attracted many ignorant and gold hungry invaders over the millenia. They see the monument from a distance and believe the monument is solid gold rather than merely gold plated.   Less often, more knowledgeable invaders have tried to capture the monument in order to access the magical power of the ley line intersection.   Because the monument is on the western side of Lustria, generally most casual invaders from the Old World have trouble reaching it. They either have to sail around the cotinent or land on the east coast and make a long march inland. The exception are the Dark Elves who are the only sea faring race with relying sea passages to eastern Lustria. By far they are the most common invaders faced by the local Lizardmen.
