HAPPY NEW YEAR!
So, its that time of year where everyone starts making new years resolutions and reflecting on the past 12 month. And I am no exception to this. Looking back in terms of writing and my involvement on World Anvil I can safely say I've made more progress than I ever expected to. I plunged into my work, focusing on presentation of articles, making them easier to digest. Put a lot more thought and attention into how I'm wording things and I pushed myself by writing things I would typically avoid. Things such as narrative pieces and one shots. I even started my 2nd world Realms and Realms to showcase work that doesn't fit into the fantasy vibe of Violem. So yeah, a good year for me in terms of worldbuilding.
Some of my highlights include all the articles I wrote for the summer camp, spooktober and world ember. I think these contests are great forms of motivation and really help me push myself more than I would on my own. Some of my personal favourites include:
Courtyard of Signatures (somewhere which builds on my love for angelology and incorporate my own ideas)
Dedrof Metal (inspired by Freddo chocolate cause I was hungry)
Wreckage at the Carriage Yard (a one shot based on the solo TTRPG rules I use)
Now I am planning on slowing down, no. Absolutely not. But there is some things I would like to focus on this year which I've put in a nice little list for you all to read (how lovely).
- Continue to update old articles, 1 article per week if possible
- Write more short stories within the world, its the whole point I joined World Anvil
- Challenge myself to write one of every article template over the next year
I don't want to over plan and prep for this upcoming year cause plans always seem to change but I'm hoping with a few goals in mind I can keep expanding on the world and share with the community my ideas and creations. So yeah, that's about it from me. Hope you all have a good 2025 and I look forward to reading and writing more in the world of Violem :)
