Empyreal Magic

The most astute spiritual scholars almost always come from the school of empyreal magic. Empyreal sages have a highly sensitive connection to the spiritual world, seeing as how their magic is comprised of more spiritual energy than any other school. It is no wonder, then, that the Eastern Tower is considered the highest of the Sage Towers. The wisdom of empyreal sages is recognized throughout all of Vana. Even the sages of other schools will hold advice from an empyreal sage above any other.

Empyreal magic is comprised of mostly light and celestial energies. Its opposite school is infernal magic, and its sister school is astral magic. The three subclasses of empyreal magic are restoration, divination, and abjuration. Each of these subclasses uses spiritual energy directly from the spirit world to affect the physical world and to gain a deeper understanding of the physical world. Empyreal sages are often considered aloof or strangely clerical due to their strong connection with the spiritual world. While this gives them a higher wisdom than most others, it makes it difficult for them to connect with other people.

Restoration

The magic of healers and defenders. Restoration magic knits together the fabric of life when its been torn or otherwise damaged. It draws together spiritual energy in order to form protective barriers. No part of this magic is capable of harming anyone or anything. It is the purest form of magic meant only to preserve life.

Divination

A deep understanding of the spiritual world brings an understanding of the natural world that is otherwise unattainable. Divination uses the spiritual world to discern histories and memories of objects and creatures that can't be seen by the naked eye. Like restoration, divination magic is incapable of bringing harm - unless, of course, the diviner falsely interprets what their magic is telling them.

Abjuration

Spiritual energy combined with astral energy brings the capability of twisting the natural world. Abjuration magic tweaks physical laws to alter scientific reactions. It's the only subclass of magic within empyreal magic that can be used to bring harm to another. While this magic isn't as flashy as any other, its uses are far and wide if used properly. Much like restorers and diviners, abjurers work best behind the scenes.
