Abate Force

Ever wanted to leap onto the tops of buildings and trees like a ninja? Or scale a mountain in only an hour or two as opposed to multiple days? Good news. (Well, unless you're not an abjurationist. Then you have to suffer).

Effect

By redirecting the gravitational pull on the target of the spell to objects in the nearby vicinity, the caster can make themselves/the target as light as air. This isn't flying - more like floating. Or falling with... grace. Hah. You thought.   It's also possible for the caster to redirect just enough gravitational force to jump to previously unattainable heights.

Side/Secondary Effects

It's a delicate art to be precise with the amount of gravity the spell affects. Beginners often push away too much or too little gravity - resulting in accidental floating or ramming one's face into a wall that they meant to scale over. Aside from that, there is little danger in using this spell.

Manifestation

The only visible affect this spell has is the push of the gravity on nearby objects. For instance, if the caster redirects the gravity acting on them to the grass around them, the stalks of grass will bend underneath the pressure. It's rare for a sage to redirect enough gravity to crush anything, but at high levels of skill and power it's possible. (Though there's a much more reasonable spell that can achieve said effect).

If the caster can't concentrate, they can't cast the spell. Alternatively, it doesn't work on illusions or objects affected by other gravitational spells. The best way to ground an abjurationist is to use another abjurationist.   If the caster is caught in an enchantment, the world they see is manifested by whomever put them under the enchantment. No matter how close the image the abjurationist sees is to the world around them, they can't cast this spell or any other spell that affects physical objects around them. This is both a blessing and a curse, as it informs the sage under the enchantment that something is wrong, but also they can't use their magic to free themselves.
