Read Emotion

Every object has some emotional value - some more than others. Sometimes it's important to know if a letter was written in anger or heartbreak. Maybe there's an object that brings nothing but tragedy to its owners. Perhaps it would be best to avoid such an item.

Effect

This spell locates the strongest emotion associated with an object's past and reveals it to the diviner. This doesn't show the reason behind the emotion, but the caster feels the emotion as if it were their own.

Side/Secondary Effects

Well heck, guys, don't try to use this spell on the most treasured weapon that a crazy, mass murderer used. The emotion you feel from something like that will probably drive you insane too, if you don't let go of the spell fast enough.
If the spell is botched, the emotions may overwhelm the caster. Instead of just feeling the one strongest emotion, they'll feel all the emotions at once and they'll all compete for attention. This also has the possibility of driving the caster insane, so it's wise to let go of the spell if something like that happens. The safer alternative to the spell's failing is being unable to feel any emotion at all.

Manifestation

There's no obvious visual except the emotional change of the diviner casting the spell.
