Demeter Jones

Demeter Jones is a very Intelligent guy with anti-social traits. Everything he creates is either to enrich himself or hurt others, or both whenever possible.

When he was nine years old he created the Ear Worm Virus and persuaded Lawrence Farnsworth, at Euterpe Recording Company, to embed the virus in all the tracks of the second album of the boy band Crushed Velvet. He first made sure to infect Larry with the virus, for leverage.

As his community service, when he was released from juvenile detention, Demeter was ordered to work for Coalition Military Intelligence under the command of Hector Garrapata who saw Demeter’s potential to further both their evil agendas.

    Demeter makes a bet with Humphrey
    Life, Achievement/ Win

    Humphrey didn’t follow Crushed Velvet on their tour. He turned up for a few of the larger events, but he spent most of the time at his house on Pelops where he would whine to anyone who would listen about how Harley had too much control over the band and that the songwriter that Humphrey hired was so mediocre compared to Harley. One who suffered through Humphrey’s complaining was the nine year old son of his next door neighbor on Pelops. The boy, Demeter Jones, was a bit unusual in that he didn’t try to make any excuse to try to get out of the conversation, but instead bet Humphrey a million Drax that he could make everyone in the Coalition into brilliant songwriters. Then Demeter went to his room and created the Ear Worm Virus.

    Demeter plays a demo at Euterpe
    Plague / Epidemic

    Demeter Jones created the Ear Worm Virus in the months following his bet with Humphrey Boswell and infected himself with it. Under the influence of the virus he composed a catchy tune, which would therefore contain the virus. He cured himself, which meant he was then immune to it, and then went to the Euterpe Recording Company and played the tune there. Humphrey didn’t think that the song measured up and declared that Demeter lost the bet. Smiling Demeter gave Humphrey a check and left. While the check bounced, Humphrey found himself unable to get a song out of his head at the bank, and everyone at the Euterpe office kept humming a different tune. The people at the bank, who heard Humphrey, soon began humming their own songs, and so on. Demeter didn’t mind letting Humphrey think he’d won the bet, for the time being, as the visit was all about infecting the first group of people with the virus.
