Eilidh Stormheart

Vindicator Eilidh Stormheart

Eilidh Stormheart, born Eilidh, is a dwarven cleric of Akadi, the Vindicator of Waterdeep, and a hero of the Great Dragon War, where she was a member of the Breadwinners.

History

Early Life

Eilidh was born in 1408 in Waterdeep to dwarves in Waterdeep. Due to her upbringing in a multiracial city, she never felt drawn towards the traditional dwarven pantheon. Instead, to the surprise of her family, Eilidh instead found a calling towards Akadi.   In 1463, Eilidh joined the Order of the Gauntlet in her hometown of Waterdeep. Her early career in the Order was unremarkable, though her diligence was rewarded as she steadily rose through the ranks, obtaining the rank of Whitehawk by 1491.

Against the Cult of the Dragon

In Elturel of 1491, Eilidh was dispatched to Baldur's Gate to investigate rumors of the supernatural surrounding Lysara the Grin, the city's crime lord. Lysara heard of her arrival and dispatched Mariana Goldfinch, Legolass, and Malachor to kill her. Unbeknownst to Lysara, the three agents she sent were actually infiltrating her organization to uncover the Cult of the Dragon's presence in Baldur's Gate. The three would-be assassins instead helped Eilidh to fake her death and then offered to help the whitehawk take down Lysara. In a joint assault with the Flaming Fist and the Watch, the group exorcised Lysara.   To repay the others, Eilidh offered to help them in their quest to convince the Council of Four to fight back against the Cult of the Dragon. Only a day or two later, Eilidh joined Mariana, Legolass, and Malachor in stopping Alexander Rake during the Baldur's Gate Uprising. Fully aware of the threat posed by the Cult of the Dragon now, Eilidh received approval from the Order of the Gauntlet to join her new companions on their quest.   During a break on Stormbreak Island, Eilidh met Akhros and Ava, both of whom would join Eilidh and the others on their adventure.   In early 1492, Eilidh joined her companions in helping Mariana Goldfinch end the Siege of Salt Lake. To Eilidh's shock, the root cause of the conflict, the ongoing drought, was revealed to be caused by a servant of Akadi operating out of a nearby temple. With the others, Eilidh returned the Eye of Akadi Artus Goldfinch had stolen, traveling into the Elemental Plane of Air for the first time in her life. Eilidh also helped negotiate the truce to end the siege. Following the siege, Eilidh and her companions officially named themselves the Breadwinners.

The Breadwinners

Following the Siege of Salt Lake, the Breadwinners then joined Agent Viné Seraph of Force Grey in infiltrating the Cult of the Dragon's base in the Mere of Dead Men. After disrupting the cult's smuggling operation, the Breadwinners stumbled upon Yssondreneth's Tomb and recovered the Gauntlet of the Black Dragon.   The Breadwinners had a run in with the Reverse Funnel System adventuring group in Silverymoon during their mission to steal the Book of Draconic Rituals.
After this last mission, Eilidh and the Breadwinners were given full authority to act on behalf of the newly formed Council of Waterdeep. At their direction, the group engaged in many missions. In addition, the The Breadwinners were joined by the bard Esme, whom the party met as Mariana's one-time lover.

Missions for the Council of Waterdeep

Eilidh and the Breadwinners fought and slayed the white dragon Arauthator in his lair on Oyaviggaton. They captured Varram the Blue, one of the Cult of the Dragon's Wyrmspeakers. Eilidh and Breadwinners were then dispatched by Prince Alagarthas of the Kingdom of the Woods to track down the source of recent dragon attacks. The Breadwinners discovered the source of the attacks was the Green Wyrmspeaker, Neronvain and his dragon Chuth. During the fight against the two of them, Eilidh was killed by Legolass, who was far into her possession by Bastion, and Eilidh's soul was absorbed into the sword. The breadwiners managed to revive Eilidh when they returned to Waterdeep, but to do so Legolass offered Bastion more of her soul to do it. Eilidh didn't remember anything during her time dead.   In late 1492, Ava assisted the Breadwinners in negotiating with the Metallic Dragon Council. To secure their alliance, the Breadwinners recovered the Staff of Shadowfell Sundering, which had been stolen from the copper dragon Tazmikella, from the ruins of Ken Asari.   Eilidh joined the Breadwinners in clearing out Xonthal's Tower, the future home of her companion Ava, in the failed mission to recover the Helm of the Red Dragon. She would also participate in the successful negotiations with the Red Wizards in Thay. During the Battle of Hardbuckler, Eilidh participated in the attack on the new Green Wyrmspeaker, Amara, in the failed attempt to neutralize her during the Battle of Hardbuckler.   During the Battle at the Well of Dragons, Mariana and the Breadwinners spearheaded the infiltration of the Well itself, slaying Don Rel and subsequently Bastion, who had been accumulating power during the war and absorbed all the souls at the Well of Dragons.

Life after the War

For her heroic deeds during the Great Dragon War, Eilidh was promoted to Vindicator of Waterdeep, where she has served since.   In late 1496, Eilidh was dispatched to Neverwinter to help quell the Neveren Orc Riots.
