Ynys Archipelago (ˈənɨ̞s ˌɑɹkɪˈpɛləˌɡoʊ)
The Ynys Archipelago is a group of islands in the Northeastern Region of the Great Ring. It is dominated by two large islands which are surronded by several smaller island groups. The largest island in the archipelago is Ynys, and the second largest is Oileán Fiáin. In total, there are nearly six thousand islands of varying sizes in the archipelago, although most of these are tiny and uninhabited - only about 180 islands have a resident population. There are several political entities that rule different islands and parts of the various islands, and the borders of these states shift frequently.
Geography
The Ynys archipelago extends from the Kattalands in the northeast to the Ynysow Syllan in the far southwest. Ynys is the largest island by far, making up over 72% of the total land area. The island of Oileán Fiáin accounts for nearly 25% of the remaining land, with the rest divided among thousands of smaller islands.
