Districts

Caer Brenin, the capital city of the Kingdom of Elmet, is divided into distinct districts, each with its own unique charm and character.

  • Aberglaw: Situated along the waterfront, Aberglaw district serves as the city's commercial hub, bustling with merchants, traders, and artisans. Its narrow cobblestone streets are lined with shops selling exquisite crafts, raw materials, and exotic goods from distant lands.
  • Dinas Llys: Nestled within the heart of the city, Dinas Llys district represents the seat of power and governance. Here, the imposing castle of the Lord Mayor stands tall, surrounded by administrative buildings and the grand halls where court proceedings and important meetings take place.
  • Tal-y-Fan: Known as the cultural center of Caer Brenin, Tal-y-Fan district is a haven for artists, musicians, and performers. The streets are adorned with vibrant taverns, theaters, and art galleries, where bards strum their lutes and troubadours captivate audiences with tales of heroism and romance.
  • Rhedyn: Enveloped in lush greenery, Rhedyn district is a verdant oasis within the city. Its meandering pathways lead to beautiful parks, botanical gardens, and serene temples, where residents seek solace and connection with nature.
  • Tirion: Overlooking the city from atop a hill, Tirion district boasts luxurious mansions and elegant estates. The wealthy elite and influential nobles call this district home, showcasing their opulence and grandeur.
  • Cyffes: Hidden amidst the shadows, Cyffes stands as a seedy district, shrouded in an air of mystery and danger. This neighborhood is notorious for its clandestine activities and a haven for criminal elements. Dark alleys, dilapidated buildings, and dimly lit taverns become the backdrop for shady dealings, smugglers, and thieves operating in the city's underbelly. Caution and vigilance are essential when traversing the streets of Cyffes, as danger lurks around every corner.
  • Bryn Gwaed: Located on the outskirts of the city, Bryn Gwaed district is home to trades that are less pleasant to be around due to the noise or the smell. Slaughterhouses, tanneries, and forges are prominent in this area. The clang of hammers, the pungent scent of raw hides, and the sound of animals being prepared for the butcher's block fill the air, giving the district an industrial and working-class atmosphere. Despite the less pleasant odors and commotion, Bryn Gwaed plays a crucial role in the city's economy, providing vital goods and services that support other districts and industries.
