Earth Marine Corps

Earth Marine Corps is currently the main part of the land forces of the United Republic of Earth and its Colonies. It was created after the London Summit in 2155 by combining the Marine Corps of all nations of Earth.

The name "corps" may be misleading when it comes to its size. It was chosen purely because of tradition. In reality, the corps' size is the same as the ECN and is comparable to land forces of countries from before the London Summit.

I have arrived on Mars. You can see that this is the oldest colony. It looks like we have been here forever. Also, I'm so close to Earth. Maybe I will have a chance to visit it

Most of the marines are stationed on planets and space stations and use dedicated troop transports to move between them. However, every ship of the ECN has its own detachment of marines from the EMC. They serve as the ship's security force and anti-boarding defence.

Structure

Marine Marshall

The Marine Marshall is the highest rank in the EMC. It is equal to Admiral of the Fleet in the ECN. Most of the time they reside in the headquarterts on Earth and focus on administrative duties.

Infantry

Infantry is the core of the Marine Corps. Every soldier is equipped with a full-body armour and a railgun rifle. A marine helmet is equipped with a scanner which makes orientation in darkness easier and aids aiming.

Armoured Vehicles

Every marine unit has armoured vehicles, but there aren't dedicated armoured units. The two most common vehicles are IFV-2 Elk (infantry fighting vehicle), APC-30 Turtle (armoured personnel carrier) and MBT-20 Lion (tank).

Aircraft

The corps has aircraft, which are similar to those used on Earth. They can't fly in space or cross a planet's atmosphere. They need to be taken to the surface by a dropship and then pilots can operate them. Aircraft are used mostly as support for the ground forces.
