Earth Space Command

Captain, we're getting an urgent transmission from Earth Space Command
— A communications officer to their captain

Earth Space Command is the highest branch of the Earth Colonial Navy that coordinates and administrates the ECN from its headquarters in London, Earth. The most important people in the ESC are four admirals with the rank of Admiral of the Fleet. Each of them is directly responsible for one of the four main branches of the navy: Standing Fleet, Rapid Response Fleets, System Patrol Fleets and the Exploration Corps.

Structure

The Admirals of the Fleet reside mostly in the London Headquarters and rarely leave Earth. Most of the time they maintain control over the navy through quantum entanglement communication and local representatives. Such a representative is authorized to speak with the authority of the admirals and can override orders of fleet commanders despite usually being in the rank of commander or captain.

Current Admirals of the Fleet

  • David Hunt - admiral responisble for the affairs of the Standing Fleet
  • Patrick Gardner - admiral responisble for the affairs of the Rapid Response Fleets
  • Alice Black - admiral responsible for the affairs of the System Patrol Fleets
  • Heinrich Gellner - admiral responsible for the affairs of the Exploration Corps
  • Assets

Apart from having control over the all of the ECN, the Earth Space Command also has several courier ships. They can be used to deliver messages when quantum entaglement communication is not available or the risk of intercepting the message is too high. Those ships are also used as the admirals' personal transports.

What's the point of the courier ships? Admirals rarely leave Earth and QE is very secure. Those ships are just money sinks, if you ask me
