Apalonia

Heartland City State
The nation of Athar does not include much land on the west bank of Ethereal River. Cairtain holds most of both banks to the north except the very north where Athar controls a small portion of both banks. The southern half of Athar's eastern border is some miles inland, thus in this area, the river actually falls outside national boundaries. The city of Apalonia is located here on the west bank, the small and unwalled town of Dawn Guard is located on the east bank, and the Watchtowers of Tethar are located at the nearby border with The Steppe Khanate. Apalonia is a fairly new city, having been either unoccupied or no larger than a small town until the recent arrival of several thousand colonial refugees fleeing the Crown Wars in the lands of Rhigol who were turned away from Nydeis.
