Nosvanii is the westernmost of the four Borderlands countries and is larger than Zarine and Agelmar combined. Zlanport is the capital, and Nosvanii is ruled by Queen Trinetta. The nation was formed early out of the five northern provinces of Afilam to preserve the peace and defend against the wilder lands of orcneas that settled near them shortly after the Godswar. The first King of Nosvanii for whom the nation was named, Nos Vanilli, was selected from among those eligible Ancient Noble Houses in a grand tournament. Known as The Tournament of The Crown, it is still commemorated and re-enacted each year with the victor receiving the title of Protector of the Crown until the following tournament and the symbolic honor of being King for the day. The capital of Zlanport was once the site of the former Nedimar Province capital of Darine.
