With 2023 wrapped up and my world another 10.000 words longer, it is time for another review of 10 articles from the community and my personal resolutions for the upcoming year.

Endrise's Resolutions for the year

For 2024, with work and other stuff probably going to keep me more occupied than ever, I'm not going to force myself too much. I'm going to explore the world of Fabulae more and show off what it is capable off. As right now there is a lot to it, but at the same time not enough depth.

That I want to change this year and expand on some of its details more. Explore the weird and wonderful elements of my setting, and maybe even see if I can make it Pathfinder compatible.

Either way, lets go over the articles of WorldEmber I gave some love!

Endrise's Picks of the Year

As usual, Stormbril is absolutely insane doing the CSS they do, making something that make other worlds pale in comparison when it comes to interactivity and presentation. And to punish reward us, made an excellent reason for one to start exploring their world and interact with its gimmicks!

AwsmChimera's way of writing dialogue is so natural and their art is second to none, giving us a lovely little article about an ugly baby. While the character itself is relatively simple, the article really does a lot of effort to express her relationships with other people, plus as always their art is as great as ever (which I should do with more art of mine). Go give it a read!

A short but sweet bit of marriage traditions in Polina "Line" Arteev's world, exploring a nice interaction between magic of their world and how people handle its events. It probably could be interesting for me to take such ideas to see how large phenomena influence cultures in Fabulae.

Jon's work when it comes to making a species as commonly used as Elves be given a beautiful and unique twist to them is nowhere better to see than this hefty article. It's big, it goes in depth, it has great art and makes even getting through this massive thing feel easy. Really makes me consider if I should raise my own article standards.

Whereas their Elves are an unique twist on an existing species, their Knights are a nice take of making their own unique thing. I love these little things and their sheer diversity, from the stunning artwork to again the lore. Makes me consider delving into things in my worlds that could be their own thing...

The idea of more POV articles is something I do not really explore in this world, and I think it's time to try something like that more. That and also actually exploring more stuff with proper primers and more diving board-style articles for people to look through my setting better.

Besides E. Christopher Clark's already stunning CSS, mountain worship is a great article that takes a simple idea and throws its own flavour to it. Clean, effective and makes sense, might be worth seeing how I could implement more simple traditions like this into my own beliefs and cultures.

The idea of anti-magic evil stuff is always a fun one, and Leyline of oblivion is definitely one of them. An article that sets up a bit of history, a location, cult, etc. All to really help flesh out the world with a simple but well described concept. Definitely a good read for a quick and short article!

The Pit is a nice combination of Alex (TheDumbOwl)'s silly humour and more subtle horror tone to it. Adding upon the mystery of some giant hole that refuses to make the climb downwards easy, I also think it would be neat for my own articles to approach some content that plays around with the 4th wall.
