Equatoria
Equatoria is the second largest continent on the World of the Long Sleep, after Trass. It sits right across the line of the equator, to the south and east of Allport and the far south and east of Trass. Further east is the continent of Fereth.
The city of Modyran is one of the fabled Foundation Cities and in 1622 AF it acquired new lustre when the space elevator was rebuilt with the aid of sorceror scientists from Anoomenon.
The cites of Oxadamill and Dowth Docks on the west and east coasts respectively, are important ports for trade to the other settled lands.
South of the central mountain range are agricultural lands which provide exports as well as meeting the needs of the local population. A series of large open cast mines known as the Copper Scoops sit to the south and west of the Kleriss Hills and these are the most important source of copper in the world.
In the west the city of Vyronclarke lies close to important silver mines in the nearby moutains, whilst in the north east, specialised hardwoods (including species not native to Earth) are harvested from the northern jungles. These woods are rare, since the loggers take care not to cut faster than the trees regrow, and many of them grow only very slowly.
Unfortunately, Modyran is now in ruins after the collapse of the space elevator which damaged a broad zone to the east of the mountains when it fell in 3092 AF. Space services are now concentrated at Helsporan.
