Niderrock
Niderrock is the second city on Fereth. It lies on the north east coast of the continent and was granted a charter in the late Foundation Age in 1395 AF.
After the North Polar passage was opened up to shipping in 1673 AF, there was a direct route between Trass and Fereth between the ports of Ulkvass and Niderrock. This was a shorter if not necessarily easier way to trade between the two continents and both cities increased greatly in importance thereafter.
The painting at the head of the article is called "Niderrock Storm", an impression of the fierce waves striking the towering cliffs over the bay on which the city is built, painted by Kiara Uthetti in 1948 AF, just a year before her death.
