Foundation Cities
The seven Foundation Cities built by the New Sophisticates marked an end to the Great Forgetting and the restarting of history as the Legends of Klane Kalonia faded into a mythic past. The names of these cities and their many stories are famous throughout the Earth.
The first amongst equals is the elder city of Aberstone, which according to the proud traditional tales of its inhabitants was founded by Klane Kalonia himself.
Vesper, Freewater, Anoomenon, Modyran, Paratomb and Allport are the other six, in the aproximate order in which they were established. All were operating as functioning trading hubs in less than a hundred years from the first meeting of the parliament of the New Sophisticates at Aberstone which we use as the base of our modern dating system.
Vesper would suffer early destruction and Paratomb was fated to perish with the last of the New Sophisticates themselves but the remaining five would play a much greater role in the unfolding stories of Earth over many centuries. Yet only one remains standing today, still able to claim a tradition of continuous inhabitation from the earliest days of Foundation; the Shining City of Anoomenon.
