Season 4, Episode 1: "The Four Horsemen" Report
General Summary
The Dream Team reconvened on Ezorod, putting on their best dress for the upcoming awards ceremony on the Burning Archipelago. They traveled via the Sun Diver overnight, suddenly hit by a massive dream after nearly two weeks without (see It Won't Be Long - Season 4). At the end, they spotted Tesin's soul as she made her way to the Boneyard, where she was to be tried by the highest court in the universe.
Pharasma arrived as judge, with Charon as the prosecution, and Valentina Terris the defense. While all otherwordly deities made their snap arguments, Charon's interference was met with a glare, and Valentina's rebuttal was shut down. Tesin was forced to speak for herself, as the Lady of Graves sought any reason to spare her mortal soul.
Although the Lashunta struggled at first, she eventually made apparent her desire to make whole the planet of Golarion, and uncover the mysteries of Aroden. Intrigued, Pharasma offered a wager -- Tesin would have the rest of her mortal life to discover Aroden's fate, and share it with the Lady of Graves. However, should she even come near the Doors of Death before the task was complete, Charon and the slighted Death would get her soul instead. All parties agreed, and Tesin was labelled with a soul brand to seal the pact.
With her judgement complete, Pharasma rounded on Charon, not willing to take the conflict of interest inherent in her representation lying down. Pharasma forced Charon to return the Dreamer to Tesin in compensation, and then all parties were banished from the Boneyard.
Stressed by a rough morning of shared visions of the trial, the group cleaned themselves on the Sun Diver, and then waded into the cheering crowds. The group was lauded for their many heroics (including Tesin, who was given an express trip by Carrot), and then thrust into the media frenzy by the organizers.
Mist reconvened with Councilman Zarrad, who was happy to announce that Mining Team 1 had received full pardons for their service. Tesin was questioned about her participation in the Eyeswide Agency, but its chief inspector -- Nicholas Carter -- arrived to intervene, although Tesin brushed him off. Then the reporter went for Tesin's throat, questioning her about old footage circulating online, showing her psychic-knifing a young boy in an alley, but Tesin bluntly refused to give answers, which would later flood Pact Worlds social media.
Chad was confronted with an alarming diss track from an old acquantice of Downlow, the rapper HeX0r, who seemed to turn against the Barathu for an unknown reason. In addition, his relationship with Pin was made official, much to the horror of all the Jelly Ladies among the stars.
Lockette took a light beating from the reporters, choosing to disappear and flee after a minute. Then Isra and Cornelius came into the spotlight, where the Android decried the Aspis Consortium as slavers on system-wide television. While the corporation immediately denied the allegations, the media was soon abuzz with the drama, which continued into the awards ceremony.
There, Alexander Marcus gave a grand speech about unity and trust in the Pact Council, claiming that the party's success was due in part to tight coordination with the Stewards. He gave each member of the Dream Team -- minus Abelina, who was notably ignored during all festivities -- a key to the Archipelago, and the blessing of the Pact Worlds Alliance.
A parade then turned into dinner, where warm food and strong drinks relaxed the Dram Team's shoulders. However, they were interrupted when Hush arrived from the shadows, congratulating Chad on his success, and awarding him eight tickets to the Culinarium, where a political banquet would soon be held. He faded back into the crowd with a sickly-sweet smile, not making his intentions known, but everyone could smell the trap wafting from the invitation.
On the walk back to the ship, Mist and Lockette were pulled aside by separate chance encounters, and split from the group before heading out...
