Carrot
Although the Keeper of the Caliginous Soul has many names -- and many more faces -- he is fond of the name given to him by the Girl Thrice-Abandoned, Carrot. As Lord of Night, this Elder Numen holds domain over the eldritch realm of the same name, and is attuned to the cosmic forces surrounding the wilderness in the dark.
Divine Domains
Unlike the gods, Carrot does not possess a specific portfolio, and seems to be infused by the eldritch powers inherent in the cosmic nature of the universe. He claims dominion over the Forest at Night, the Hunt in Shadow, and the Caliginous Soul.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Like all Elder Numens, Carrot considers the Outer Gods his sworn enemy, and seeks to destroy them whenever possible. However, he is far less destructive than some of his peers (such as the Eshtayiv), and tends to avoid great losses of life when a single sacrifice will do. As Lord of Night, he is tasked with the protection of all creatures born of his realm, and seeks to strengthen his domain with every act.

Personal history
Carrot was born in the time before mortals, before the birth of the stars, when Night still gulped greedily at the light of dawn. He has watched entire galaxies form and crumble in the vast expanse that is his lifetime, and only his fellow Numens can say what he has achieved.
In modern times, the only records that exist of Carrot tie him closely to Ezorod, where he willingly imprisoned himself so that the Cult of the Elder Mythos could capture his rival, the Eshtayiv. He served as the prison's warden long after the Cult abandoned it, making the bubble city his own, and perfecting the Pyric servants born of his shadow and the flames of Mataras.
In 317 AG, a failed expedition by Lod Coster revealed the existence of the bubble city, which quickly saw several organizations venture to Ezorod, seeking the treasures that Carrot had collected over his long tenure. Concerned that his hold on the Eshtayiv would be weakened, he quickly sought a mortal partner, which he found in Tesin Movahesh. After she defeated the Elder Numen's enemies, the two were bonded in umbral matrimony, with Tesin taking over as Master of Ezorod. In recent days, Carrot seems content to let his wife do as she pleases, as long as she furthers the cause of Night, and does not weaken his hold on the Eshtayiv.

As Lady and Lord of Night, Carrot and Tesin are bound in umbral matrimony, and share in each other's power. Although their personal relationship is still developing, they have been an effective couple, furthering both the cause of Night, and that of the Dream Team.

Although Ilvarti despises taking orders, he seems to hold Carrot in reverence, and follows his lead without question. Carrot finds Ilvarti a useful tool, so long as he knows his place.

Carrot and the Eshtayiv are cosmically-opposed entities, and hate each other with every fiber of their being. As entities of Night and Light respectively, their powers are continually at odds, and one often corrupts the other.
