The Bitter Dagger Clan

The Bitter Dagger Clan was always the smallest clan. This, however, did not stop them for making a name for themselves, good or bad. They are one of the original four clans that were formed after the kobolds arrived in Nilrodhi. They were founded by Erto Bitter Dagger, who some say, is responsible for the clan never growing bigger. Erto is mostly known as the one responsible for the death of Yiltzak Blackfoot. Unfortunately, this single act has overshadowed any of his accomplishments while Chieftain and led to his death. The original members of the Bitter Dagger Clan were the Kobolds wanting to continue on the same as in the Old World. They wanted to continue raiding and taking whatever they wanted.
Erto sought out Yiltzak Blackfoot for help during the onset of the conflicts. The Blackfoot Clan had a couple of iron mines in their territory and Erto was hoping Yiltzak Blackfoot would forge weapons for him. Yiltzak Blackfoot refused and stood firm that The Blackfoot Clan would remain neutral in this conflict and would continue to push for peace. Erto asked if they would trade raw iron ore instead and that he would forge it himself. Yiltzak refused once again. Erto left and returned to his home feeling defeated. The thought of his clan running out of suitable weapons to fight with ate away at him. The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. The way he saw it, Yiltzak had condemned the Bitter Daggers to death by refusing trade. He met in private with one of his most loyal fighters and assigned him to assassinate Yiltzak Blackfoot and provided him a few vials of snake venom to coat his daggers with.
The assassination was carried out and as the assassin was captured by The Blackfoot Clan, word quickly spread all across Nilrodhi of Erto's deed. All clans condemned his action and some members of his own clan lead a rebellion against him. The rebellion was led by Riks Lost Tooth. They managed to fight their way the Erto's loyal followers and to Erto himself. Riks drug Erto out into the center of Pinnahear market and beheaded him. Riks then lead his followers out from The Bitter Dagger Clan to form The Lost Tooth Clan.
The Bitter Dagger Clan never fully recovered after Erto was killed. To this day they are still the smallest clan and hold a strong grudge against The Lost Tooth Clan.
Today, Idda Bitter Dagger is making great strides to make a better name for the clan. There is still a grudge between The Lost Tooth Clan and the Bitter Daggers. They will often insult one another and antagonize each other. Despite this, Idda Bitter Dagger has been able to mend ties with The Blackfoot Clan and the others.

Structure

Culture

The Bitter Dagger culture is a simple one. Despite having a bad reputation, they are actually very talented in dealing with nature. Keeping true to Erto's action of harvesting poisons from plants and animals, they managed to use some of these to make medicine for different infliction. They are well adapt in using alchemy to make these medicines, antidotes, and potions. Most of the medicine found today in Nilrodhi come from the Bitter Daggers. They do still carry their signature poisoned daggers at their side, but mostly out of tradition and pride.
