The Lehare do not have the issue of an extreme shortage of males the Ufele have, and this lets Chuma have a further without it being strange.

So upon her birth, she was surrounded by her mother, father and dozens of members of a sisterhood.

But she also had sisters herself and a 'twin' in Feneka.

At one she and Feneka got a baby sister who they shared a cot with.

At six she'd seen her sisters climb the sky at the age of six but she was made to wait a year. This was a brutal discovery for her and her pride. But the consolation was that she'd spend a part of her time with Aphiwe.

At four it was clear, despite all of them being special, Aphiwe was the centre. Her mom and dad relied on Aphiwe's mom and therefore she had a job too.

At five it was already clear that Chuma was a very intelligent child and she used her sharpness to look after Aphiwe the most taking the greatest ownership.

Motivation

She and her tail have a somewhat antagonist relationship. it is to the point where it will act out when she's under pressure.

Every Lehare tail is an expression of a Lehare's subconscious, acting out, generally in a person's best interests. Chuma's tail is some of the most intense reactors, acting against some of the shyness and more reserved nature.

Mama's girl

She's absolutely in love with her mother and a believer in her mother's mission in helping the Thato House. Because, despite how funny they were, they were special. Her mother made sure Chuma know it did not mean they were better than her. It was not mean they were better than her. It was not about being better, it was all about potential. Chuma had always wanted to be a part of that 'special' thing. Not only could she be useful to the family and be great herself. Even creatures with the greatest of wings needed wind to fly.

Is one of Aphiwe Ndlovu-Sana's best friends, easily the smartest kid Aphiwe knows. She's a year younger and is Lehare, a fast-growing face inside of Sedibeng


Her parents are new to the Jongiwe Tree, having come in when she was wrong. Her mother is a talented potter, and her father is a cooper along with her brother in law and their wife. The cooper part is slow with only the lesser branch house from which they were invited something connected with Thato's lesser house who, thanks to Thato has opened a new land opportunity. But getting the land was the easy part, actually getting people to pay attention to them. Talk is expensive in the God Tree. The Jongiwe Tree is one of the better God Trees for newcomers, taking in, safely more than most. But even Chuma can sense that won't be forever. Her parents know that being friends with Thato Ndlovu-Sana is extremely important. That applies as much as, if not more than they get in through Aphiwe. And they're willing to go through the effort of pushing Chuma. They've never said anything but ask constantly.


Chuma feels the pressure but genuinely likes and freaking loves Aphiwe. she doesn't think anything negative about her and genuinely believes in her, which Aphiwe returns.


Chuma is also friends with Lesanda but if it wasn't for Aphiwe, they likely wouldn't have been friends at all. They both come off as either too snobbish or too abrasive, which they ironically are not immune to. Though they do not get mad as each other anymore. It just kinda gets quiet but they actually can make each other laugh.
