North Sibini Lehare

The Grand Auditor

The most successful people, able to possess land are the auditors. They are powers considered above all and because of this, there is a level of power unique to The Lehare. There are two courthouses where Auditors do their work. There are two Grand Auditor Certificates and four judges. The judges are not the main power inside of Sedibeng. But as Judges they cannot be denied by any in Sedibeng.

Though technically not nobility they have status, which gives them power, which outstrips even the greatest of the houses.

Those subject to auditors and judges are Breakers and the Phando a special Lehare exclusive role which is a point of pride for any Lehare that earns it.

Culture

Culture and cultural heritage

They are hard fighting people, smart enough to win without loosing an arrow. They are inquisitive and fiercely independent.

They’re mostly welcomed through the Ndlovu-Sana. With most working together to live peacefully. They’re fairly funded, albeit undermanned in their police duties. But the most intelligent have started trade, but one must have land to trade which is owned by either a House or a municipality, unfortunately money earned under the municipality goes back to the municipality. This is a clear no. So marriage is a fast-growing custom as they embrace work marriage. This has created a new brand of ways past the law.

This is not necessarily enough to earn them land but it does earn them enough to qualify to lease land to work.

Though most welcome by the Ndlovu-Sana, this does not easily transfer through to the people. At least not at first, but when the Ndlovu-Sana took a power advantage within North Sibini, from Grounds Keepers to archers matches. This was insisted upon by both the Matriarch sisters and her grandmother.

How this was done, by first lobbying the hardest for the loophole and investing on multiple marriages. The first being between Thato Ndlovu-Sana and the whole handler family, Ntabi being the face, everyone knows, With that noble houses, branch families would show their support by buying the pottery the family produced, which were of some of the finest quality.

This led to more than one Lehare, coming to the Jongiwe tree, not only that, but the North Sibini found their numbers increasing, it was just what they were looking for, many took the job of Breakers as is the standard, but as they try to build upon the growing freedoms they look for their way to marry into land and investment, a community starts to form, trade opening up.

The Paper Tap

Because all non-Chui access is limited, all races have to keep a strong age on their paperwork. How long they are allowed to visit, where they are allowed to visit. So all Lehare will have papers declaring who they are or some other means to declare their legal status. Because of this, over the years, it has formed a custom of ensuring they have their papers, it will generally be a system of touching theirs someone else’s and if they are alone, they’ll touch it to a mirror. This is so common it’s considered a sign of good luck, and a sign of respect to middle and upper houses to have a mirror by the door of a house, normally by the door handle, luckily both races have a similar height so a big mirror isn’t needed. This is important as mirrors are quite expensive. Even modern Chui and a few other Ufele will have mirrors at their door to accommodate the culture.

Polygamy

Polygamy is a common thing amongst the Lehare as it’s a great means to secure a relationship. But for a Lehare, the concept of a relationship is more ‘logic based’ surer on purpose, with less value being placed on love than a positive commitment.

It is better to have a short relationship with a positive end than a long happy relationship with a stagnant growth. Because of this, a relationship beginning can be as simple as ‘letting your tail decide’ which is a simple as it sounds.

Starting a relationship will have multiple people involved but it’s becoming a real connection is something else entirely. That requires that they meet each other’s parents and examining each other’s prospects with them going over what they are willing to give and take. Most marriages will have a time limit, before the contract ends. These contracts will be looked over by the breakers unless a judge or an auditor is willing to join in.
