The Spire of Regnum

Grand Seat of the (fallen) Turathi Empire

The Spire of Regnum is a monumental tower, built alongside the the Annaellas river and commissioned by the third High Warlock of Turathi, Emperor Piero Numerius. Rising to a height of nearly 3000 feet, the spire served as the political and arcane heart of the empire during its nearly 1,700 year reign.   Even after the empire's fall, the spire remains, to this day, a permanent fixture upon the horizon of Southern Kreata, and as a reminder of the shadow of power that the Exarchs hope to one day reclaim.

Purpose / Function

The Spire of Regnum, also known as the Spire of Warlocks, or just the Spire, was created to serve as the symbolic throne and political seat of the Turathi Imperium. Rising nearly a mile into the sky, the nature of its construction remains mostly a mystery that has not since been replicated.   Nearly 200 floors dot the spire, hosting all manner of administrative and arcane offices, the spire allowed the consolidation of most government functions within the auscpices of the High Warlocks' dominion. Furthermore, the Spire's mere prescence served to intimidate and subjegate the masses merely by its supreme majesty.

Architecture

The Spire is composed of an admixture of mana-infused cement, mortor, and steel reinforcement. From a distance, the Spire vaguly resembles a spiral spear that flows from a wide sloping base to a fine tapered tip. In some ways, it resembles a bee hive, dotted with so many black portals and windows along its outer surface.   Inside, countless floors stand stacked atop each other in a decreasing radius as one ascends the tower. Among the most interesting rooms within the spire include the Grand Chamber, the Terrace, the Apex, and Chimney.   Of particular interest is the Chimney. A powerful enchantment allowed the construction of a large hollow cylinder running the base of the spire's spine. While within the radius of the Chimney, a creature is granted the powers of flight, allowing immeasurably quick vertical travel between the hundreds of floors within the tower.
