The Nation-States of Tarien

While much of Tarien remains wilderness, nation-states do exist. Most nation-states have defined borders. Others rely strictly on geographical features, such as the edge of the desert. Most nations guard their borders, with the heaviest protection found on major roads. Few nations deny entry to any, although all reserve the right to do so. By entering another nation, a person is subject to all of its laws. Extradition and immunity are reserved for a rare few. For the most part, the nations of Tarien ring the Eldorian and Storm seas. the Elanthai Council and the Flietch-ta Empire provide examples of civilization east of the sea, while the Nerrid Alliance and the Zennonaize Confederacy do the same to the west.
