Steeped in mystery despite the fact that its citizens are some of the most widely travelled in Tarien, the Emirates are much more hospitable than the desert in which it is located. Perhaps the mystery comes from most people's experience with the Dharja as slaves to wealthy Eldorians, sold into captivity by their own people. Perhaps it comes the mystery comes from the fact that travellers in Carboth never reach the oasis of Dharja to enjoy that hospitality.
