Marogal Island

To call this region of Tarien an island is, while true, generous to the term island. The region actually consists of several islands, though the land mass bounded by the Salt River, the Marogal Seas, and the Sintarien Sea is by far the largest. With a width of nearly 200 leagues at its widest point and a height of over 275 leagues in the center, many geographers argue that is should be considered its own subcontinent, just like Azermathia. The remaining islands - scattered throughout the Sintarien are of the coastal variety of little interest to anyone but a ship's captain attempting to navigate their shoals.

As a whole, the region is largely unexplored, with a grand total of two expeditions - the first by Hans von Ghana in the mid-sixth century and the second by Antonio Brenkin in the early eighth providing all of the known maps and geographic description. As neither explorer ventured beyond the site of the site of the sea, this means that interior is largely speculative, with only the sketches of jungles and mountains that are likely more fancy than fact. Brenkin and his crew did explore a "rock and glass filled" desert in the southern part of the island where he claimed to have found signs of a lost alien civilization, but no sentient beings.

The only other contact with Marogal Island occurs semi-annually at its southern-most tip. It is here, at Point Brenkin that the crew of the Elanthai Trading Company puts in for fresh water and to hold a ritual seeking the blessing of Jendredi.
