Phelandrian Naval Base

Like Dockside, the Naval Base at Phelandria is a narrow, with barely a single row of buildings on either side of the street that bends around the Verdun Bay. Unlike Dockside, however, the piers attached to it do not form a crazy labyrinth but rather stick straight out in the harbor in neat rows, Imperial ships tied down and buttoned up meticulously. e Ships range from fast cutters that patrol the Island shores to massive galleons destined to take Legionnaires to visit ports of call such as Carboth, Gartcha, and Ithsaman. Massive ballista and at trebuchets sit at the end of a number of docks, their batteries perhaps not as watchful as their officers might like, given the millennia of peace Phelandria has seen.

Ships at the Naval base
The crews and the naval staff that maintain them bunk down in similarly neat rows of barracks on the harbor side of the shelf, interspersed with various supply depots and command centers. With sailors and officers stationed for several seasons in a row at the base, naval buildings boast the lived-in feeling of a well run home. In contrast, the barracks across the street feel stark and unwelcoming. Scoured every moon by the legionnaires stationed there at the time, each of these barracks houses soldiers that, while far more numerous than the sailors, never make a home at the base. Their individual companies and battalions move in, stay packed, and with the blessings of Jendredi, sail out on the tides in less a moon. These same soldiers make the most of their time in the Jewel of the Empire causing, as any sailor will tell, the all of the trouble in Shoreleave.
