Geography

Holopedia Galactica entry:

The system primary is Rossu, an M3 IV Red Subgiant star.

The closest orbiting body is Vulara, a typical silicate crust planet with a glossy appearance due to the high heat it experiences in Rossu's high sunspot phases.

Istrion is also a rock planet with a silicate crust, no atmosphere and no moons. It is not tidally locked but its rotation period is more than four-fifths as long as its orbit. The side closest to Rossu is far enough away from the primary to not melt, but any artificial object on that side of Istrion will probably succumb to various kinds of radiation damage.

The Fiore Belt was named for the colorful asteroids it contains, many of which are quartz compounds. Early settlers compared them to a field of flowers.

Obulette is the third planet of the system, occupying the fourth orbital position. It is the capital of Mecetti Province and headquarters of High Lord Bodé Leobund Vormecetti of House Vormecetti. It has ten natural moons which have been adapted directly or indirectly into Obulette's excellent shipyard facilities.

Bunkoni has been heavily mined for iron and magnesium; Ghjallu, too, has been heavily mined for its shallow sulfur deposits. House Vormecetti traffic control advisories warn that it is unsafe to land on either planet unless the vehicle is equipped with specially treated landing gear, and that rescue missions are unlikely to arrive before catastrophic effects take place. Both of these rock planets have Holonet signal relays installed at their rotational poles.

The outermost planet in the system, Pezzu, is an ice planet with near-constant hailstorms. Pezzu has two natural moons: Chjardu, the larger and more stable, hosts a secondary starport for Obulette System's traffic overflow. Scogliu, a twisted rock that may be a captured fragment from an old comet, spins around itself in a complicated pattern that deters all pilots except the more daredevil Mentat chauffeur.
