Head Families

Each district has head families that represent their people. Can loosely make laws but will always be below the laws of the King and Queen of Atla.

Qualifications

A hereditary title, passed down upon death of previous family member.

Requirements

Must be part of that family. Must be a historic family from that district. With the exception of the Atlan families that move into the Dayara District following the end of the Dayarin-Polaris war.

Appointment

Can only officially rise to the rank by being appointed by the current King or Queen. King or Queen has the right to change the Head Families as they please.

Duties

Must serve the people of their district/city.

Responsibilities

Are allowed to make loose laws and govern small police forces. Though this will always be overshadowed by the Royal Family. Also must collect taxes from the citizens and send them to Almne, the royal capitol, otherwise face consequences or not get return funding from Almne.

Benefits

The various Head Families are some of the richest people in Rhydar. Though most of the Head Families have created their own wealth in some way, there are some that have benefited from the Kingdom of Atla's rule. While some of these families were once rulers of their own, such as the Immie family, most were not and are now able to make laws with the other families in that district.

Accoutrements & Equipment

Many of the Head Families have their own crest and colors, and when representing their district at the Atla capitol adorn such colors.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The King and/or Queen may choose to get rid or replace a Head Family as they please.

History

After the fall of the Dayarin Empire to the Polaris Kingdom, the two merged to form the Kingdom of Atla. However, the Immie family, the imperial family of the Dayarin Empire, was give loose rule over their territories still. This political move on the side of the Polaris Kingdom would be the birth of the Head Families.

Cultural Significance

Since the Head Families have been implemented there has been a better split in power, but not so much in the commoners best interest.
